Unnatural oligomers and unnatural oligomer libraries

Current Opinion in Chemical Biology, 1997
Within the past few years, a variety of compounds that mimic biopolymers have been developed. All of these unnatural oligomers are prepared by iterative syntheses, which are amenable to combinatorial strategies. Peptides continue to be popular targets for mimicry, and there is growing interest in targeting oligosaccharides.

Tau Oligomers

2019
The accumulation of tau filaments in neurons is a pathological hallmark of various neurodegenerative diseases, including Alzheimer's disease. However, it is not the filamentous aggregates themselves, but non-filamentous tau species, tau oligomer, that is thought to be the culprit in tau-mediated neurodegeneration.

Pyridine–imide oligomers

Chemical Communications, 2008
Pyridine-imide oligomers created by incorporating imide and pyridine units alternatively in sequence were successfully synthesized and found to form highly compact and stable helical conformations contributed by intramolecular H-bonds between the imide and both adjacent pyridines, and by the structural characteristics of the imide units.

Crystallization behaviour of oligomer-oligomer systems

Polymer Science U.S.S.R., 1981
Abstract The heats of melting have been measured for three series of polyblock block copolymers of polyethylene oxide and polyarylate and for blends of analogous composition, and their degrees of crystallinity have been determined. Dependences of the heats of melting on the MW of crystalline and amorphous components, and on composition, are compared.
