Strain‐Programmable Luminescent Adhesive Patch With Tartrazine‐Mediated Optical Skin Clearing for Photochemical Tissue Bonding

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
We propose a suture‐complementary approach that integrates optical skin clearing with a strain‐programmable luminescent adhesive patch. Hyaluronic acid promotes transdermal delivery of tartrazine to improve optical clearing and stabilizes its interaction with a photosensitizer. Optical clearing increases the penetration depth of visible light into skin,

Fucoidan alleviates the hepatorenal syndrome through inhibition organic solute transporter α/β to reduce bile acids reabsorption

open access: yesCurrent Research in Pharmacology and Drug Discovery, 2023
The high levels of bile acids are a critical factor in hepatorenal syndrome. Organic solute transporter α/β (Ostα/β) participate in bile acids reabsorption in the kidney.

Regulated Ion‐Diffusion Hydrogels for Subtle and Multimodal Temperature‐Strain Sensing in Wound Monitoring

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A soft, dual‐channel hydrogel patch enables simultaneous detection of wound temperature and strain by integrating ion‐diffusion‐mediated thermoelectric and resistive sensing. The conformal design maintains stable performance during motion, capturing subtle inflammatory and mechanical changes for continuous wound monitoring.

Prediction of human drug clearance and anticipation of clinical drug-drug interaction potential from in vitro drug transport studies [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
A major concern in drug development is the characterization of new molecular entities (NMEs) with respect to their safety and efficacy. Both factors are determined by the drug’s exposure within the body which itself is affected by drug clearance ...

Biological Distribution after Oral Administration of Radioiodine-Labeled Acetaminophen to Estimate Gastrointestinal Absorption Function via OATPs, OATs, and/or MRPs

open access: yesPharmaceutics, 2023
We evaluated the whole-body distribution of orally-administered radioiodine-125 labeled acetaminophen (125I-AP) to estimate gastrointestinal absorption of anionic drugs.

Intrinsic Photoactive Star ZnPc–Poly(glutamate) Nanoplatforms for Multimodal Glioblastoma Therapy and Brain‐Targeted Delivery

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
An intrinsic photoactive star‐shaped zinc phtalocyanine‐poly(L‐glutamic acid) (ZnPc‐PGA) nanoplatform for multimodal glioblastoma (GBM) therapy and brain‐targeted elivery. A ZnPc‐PGA‐based multifunctional theranostic nanocarrier platform enables image‐guided, multimodal GBM therapy. ZnPc‐PGA nanocarriers support the integration of fluorescence imaging,

X‐Functionality–Driven Photocatalytic Hydrogen Evolution in 2D 4‐X‐PEA2SnI4 Perovskites

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
We report a water‐based synthesis of 2D 4‐X‐PEA2SnI4 perovskite microcrystals with prominent photocatalytic (PC) activity for H2 production. The synergy between organic functionalization and HI‐derived iodide scavenges holes suppress octahedral distortion, and favor electron accumulation, enabling a PC H2 evolution ∼20 µmol·g−1 and long‐term stability ...

Molecular cloning and functional expression of a multispecific organic anion transporter from human kidney

open access: yes, 1999
Recently, we isolated the multispecific organic anion transporter (OAT1) from the rat kidney, which plays important roles in the renal elimination of endogenous and exogenous organic anions including clinically important drugs.

Interactions of 172 plant extracts with human organic anion transporter 1 (SLC22A6) and 3 (SLC22A8): a study on herb-drug interactions [PDF]

open access: yesPeerJ, 2017
Background Herb-drug interactions (HDIs) resulting from concomitant use of herbal products with clinical drugs may cause adverse reactions. Organic anion transporter 1 (OAT1) and 3 (OAT3) are highly expressed in the kidney and play a key role in the ...
