Development of an oriC vector for use in Mycoplasma synoviae
Journal of Microbiological Methods, 2014Mycoplasma synoviae, an important poultry pathogen, belonging to the class Mollicutes, causes airsacculitis, synovitis, decreased egg production and produces significant economic losses. Efforts to determine M. synoviae virulence factors and their role in pathogenicity require suitable tools for genetic manipulation of this pathogen.

The complex of oriC DNA with the DnaA initiator protein
Research in Microbiology, 1991We describe several experimental approaches relating to the early steps in the initiation of DNA replication at oriC. 1) A matrix is given which enables calculatation of the relative affinity of DnaA boxes for DnaA protein; 2) base changes within single Dna A boxes in oriC have little effect on oriC function; 3) mutations which change the distance ...

Twenty-one current regulator systems were built, tested, and put in operation in the Oak Ridge Isochronous Cyclotron. Two motor-generator units rated at 800 and 1200 kW are regulated by transistor banks in the field circuits of the generators. Nineteen other magnet supplies are rectifier-magnetic amplifier systems with ratings ranging from 6 to 30 kW ...

The Oak Ridge Isochronous Cyclotron RF system has been converted from an RCA 6949 power amplifier to an RCA 4648 power amplifier. The primary incentive was to reduce tube replacement cost; however, improved system performance and reliability were also realized.

Analyzing methods for ORIC magnetic fields
Nuclear Instruments and Methods, 1962Computer programs used in the design of the magnetic fields for ORIC are discussed. The final magnet configuration is shown and special features are described. Deflection studies and deflection characteristics are summarized.

Achievement and measurement of the ORIC magnetic field
Nuclear Instruments and Methods, 1962The magnetic field for ORIC is achieved by means of conventional main coils requiring 1 MW at maximum energy and internal coils with a power capability of another megawatt. The internal coils include ten pairs of circular trimming coils for shaping the radial gradient, a pair of valley coils in each of three sectors for changing the flutter, and three ...

ORIC RF System - Preparation for HHIRF
IEEE Transactions on Nuclear Science, 1977The integration of the Oak Ridge Isochronous Cyclotron (ORIC) into the Holifield Heavy Ion Research Facility (HHIRF) requires several RF system modifications to permit injection of ion beams from the 25 MV tandem electrostatic accelerator into ORIC. A new dee eliminates structural interference with the injected beam path and provides an opportunity to ...

The Oric High-Resolution Spectrograph Facility
IEEE Transactions on Nuclear Science, 1966The installation of a broad-range spectrograph system at ORIC has now been completed. The system consists of a beam analyzing magnet, two triplet quadrupole magnets, and the spectrograph magnet. These magnets are operated as a compound system to obtain optimum energy resolution.

Detection of oriC-Independent Replication in Escherichia coli Cells
2017In bacteria, replication of the chromosome is normally initiated following the binding of DnaA proteins to the oriC region. However, under certain circumstances, replication can also be initiated independent of the oriC/DnaA system. This is the case, for example, in Escherichia coli cells lacking RNase HI (rnha mutants) or type 1A topoisomerase ...
