Contribution to catalysis of ornithine binding residues in ornithine N5-monooxygenase [PDF]

open access: yesArchives of Biochemistry and Biophysics, 2015
The SidA ornithine N5-monooxygenase from Aspergillus fumigatus is a flavin monooxygenase that catalyzes the NADPH-dependent hydroxylation of ornithine. Herein we report a mutagenesis study targeting four residues that contact ornithine in crystal structures of SidA: Lys107, Asn293, Asn323, and Ser469.

Modulation of ornithine decarboxylase activity and ornithine decarboxylase-antizyme complex in rat heart by hormone and putrescine treatment

open access: yesBiochimica Et Biophysica Acta - General Subjects, 1986
Ornithine decarboxylase was present in a cryptic, complexed form in an amount approximately equivalent to that of free ornithine decarboxylase activity in adult rat heart.

Ornithine aminotransferase of fishes

Comparative Biochemistry and Physiology Part B: Comparative Biochemistry, 1973
Abstract 1. 1. The activity of ornithine aminotransferase was measured in liver and other tissues from a number of species of fish. 2. 2. Significant levels of the enzymes were detected in many of the species investigated. 3. 3. The fish enzyme appears to be similar to the enzyme found in higher animals. 4. 4.
