Proteolytic remodelling of the extracellular matrix by pericytes
Pericytes are specialised perivascular cells intimately connected with endothelial cells and essential for the maintenance of vascular beds. They contribute to the formation and remodelling of the extracellular matrix by actively secreting proteases and protease inhibitors.

ABSTRACT Introduction Investigator‐led research and quality improvement initiatives have led to important improvements in the diagnostic assessment of platelet function disorders (PFD). Methods Personal reflections were used to summarize our contributions to knowledge on PFD diagnostic assessment, pathogenesis, and bleeding risks.

Protein and Peptide Inhibitors of Mineralization: A Systematic Review of In Vitro Studies
In vitro evidence from crystallization assays demonstrates that peptides inhibit mineral nucleation and crystal growth through sequence‐dependent interactions (acidic residues and phosphorylation) with mineral surfaces. In cell cultures, these molecules reduce calcium deposition and ALP activity and modulate the expression of biomineralization‐related ...

Cellular Heterogeneity During Arterial Aging
Graphical abstract showing arterial cell subpopulations and their functional changes during aging. Transcriptomic profiling studies across species identify age‐associated endothelial, smooth muscle, fibroblast, and immune cell states characterized by inflammation, extracellular matrix remodeling, phenotypic switching, and cellular senescence ...

Effect of simvastatin on the extraction socket healing in the mandible of prednisolone-treated albino rat [PDF]
Aim: This work aimed to evaluate the possible prophylactic effect of using Simvastatin as adjunctive treatment to ameliorate the effects of using prednisolone on the healing of the albino rat mandibular molar extraction socket.Materials and Methods: 42 ...

Characterization of human osteoblast and megakaryocyte-derived osteonectin (SPARC) [PDF]
Osteonectin is an adhesive, cell, and extracellular matrix-binding glycoprotein found primarily in the matrix of bone and in blood platelets in vivo. Osteonectins isolated from these two sources differ with respect to the complexity of their constituent N-linked oligosaccharide. In this study, osteonectin synthesized by bone-forming cells (osteoblasts)

Molecular Basis and Clinical Spectrum of WNT10A‐Related Oligodontia
Cellular Mechanism behind WNT10A phenotypes. ABSTRACT WNT10A mutations, a major genetic determinant of dental agenesis and ectodermal dysplasia, exert profound effects on craniofacial development. Although classified as rare disorders, these mutations account for more than half of oligodontia cases, reflecting their critical role.
