Monosubstituted N‐Arylhydroxylamine Chemistry: Integrating Contemporary Synthetic Approaches for the Efficient Construction of Diverse Heterocyclic Scaffolds

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, EarlyView.
Monosubstituted N‐arylhydroxylamines represent a unique subclass of hydroxylamines that act as pivotal intermediates in redox transformations and as versatile platforms for further synthetic transformations. They serve as key building blocks in the synthesis of architecturally complex heterocycles and other valuable organic compounds.

Characterisation of OXA-244, a chromosomally-encoded OXA-48-like β-lactamase from Escherichia coli [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
International audienceABSTRACT Shewanella spp. constitute a reservoir of antibiotic resistance determinants. In a bile sample, we identified three extended-spectrum-β-lactamase (ESBL)-producing bacteria ( Escherichia coli , Klebsiella pneumoniae , and ...

Multi-centre evaluation of real-time multiplex PCR for detection of carbapenemase genes OXA-48, VIM, IMP, NDM and KPC [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
Background: Resistance to carbapenem antibiotics is emerging worldwide among Enterobacteriaceae. To prevent hospital transmission due to unnoticed carriage of carbapenemase producing micro-organisms in newly admitted patients, or follow-up of patients in

Push–Pull Ynamines and Push–Pull Ynamides: Synthesis, Structure, Reactivity, and Application

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Organic Chemistry, EarlyView.
Push–pull ynamines and push–pull ynamides, which carry an EWG and an amino or amido group as EDG, are highly interesting classes of EDG‐EWG alkynes that have been intensively studied due to their exceptional reactivity. In this review, the synthesis, structure, reactivity, and application of push–pull ynamines, push–pull ynecarbamates, push–pull ...

Prospective evaluation of the OXA-48K-SeT assay, an immunochromatographic test for the rapid detection of OXA-48-type carbapenemases [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Antimicrobial Chemotherapy, 2016
There is an urgent need for accurate and fast diagnostic tests to identify MDR bacteria. Here, we evaluated an immunochromatographic assay (the OXA-48 K-SeT assay) to detect OXA-48-like carbapenemase-producing Enterobacteriaceae from culture colonies. One hundred and sixty-one collection isolates with characterized β-lactamase content and 185 non ...

Rising Threat of OXA-48 and other Carbapenemase Encoding Genes among Carbapenem Resistant Enterobacteriaceae in India

open access: yesJournal of Pure and Applied Microbiology, 2020
Members of Enterobacteriaceae family are responsible for both community and hospital acquired infections. Because of development of antimicrobial resistance carbapenem has remained as last resort of drug for treatment of infections caused by these ...

The difficult-to-control spread of carbapenemase producers in Enterobacteriaceae worldwide [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
Spread of carbapenemase producers in Enterobacteriaceae is now identified worldwide. Three main carbapenemases are reported which belong to three classes of ß-lactamases that are KPC, NDM and OXA-48.

Evaluation of FilmArray Multiplex PCR Test Results in Bloodstream Infections in Oncological Patients

open access: yesJournal of Clinical Laboratory Analysis, EarlyView.
In this study conducted at an oncology hospital, BCID2 panel results for the rapid identification of microorganisms and resistance genes in positive blood culture samples were compared with conventional culture methods. The BCID2 panel provided faster results and showed a high correlation with traditional methods.

Emergence of Escherichia coli producing OXA-48 β-lactamase in the community in Switzerland [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
The emergence and worldwide spread of carbapenemase-producing Enterobacteriaceae is of great concern to public health services. The aim of this study was to investigate the occurrence of carbapenemase-producing Enterobacteriaceae in the community in ...

Genomic Insights Into Carbapenem‐Resistant Klebsiella pneumoniae in Pediatric Bloodstream Infections in Zhejiang, China (2019–2024)

open access: yesJournal of Clinical Laboratory Analysis, EarlyView.
The primary mechanism of carbapenem resistance identified in pediatric CRKP‐BSI strains was the production of Class B metalloenzymes. We report, for the first time, an outbreak of bloodstream infections in a neonatal ward caused by the dissemination of NDM‐1‐producing ST25 K. pneumoniae.
