Gut Lactate Boosts Ruminococcus via Histone Lactylation to Mediate Time‐Restricted Feeding Protection in Crohn's Disease

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
TRF enriches Ruminococcus, a bacterial genus producing SCFAs, and activates the epithelial HIF‐1α signaling pathway. This mechanism protects the colonic mucosa from inflammatory insults in colitis models. Mechanistically, gut lactate production during starvation and refeeding mediates H4K12la, which increases SLC9A3 expression and creates an acidic gut

Review of In Vitro Efficacy of Ceftazidime-Avibactam, Meropenem-Vaborbactam and Imipenem-Relebactam in Carbapenemase Producing Klebsiella pneumoniae Isolates

open access: yesMediterranean Journal of Infection, Microbes and Antimicrobials, 2023
Introduction: To investigate the in vitro efficacy of three new antimicrobial agents [ceftazidime-avibactam (CAZ-AVI), meropenem-vaborbactam (V/R) and imipenem/cilastatin-relebactam] in isolates of carbapenemase-producing Klebsiella pneumoniae (CPKP ...

ML Workflows for Screening Degradation‐Relevant Properties of Forever Chemicals

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The environmental persistence of per‐ and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) necessitates efficient remediation strategies. This study presents physics‐informed machine learning workflows that accurately predict critical degradation properties, including bond dissociation energies and polarizability.

Performance of a new in-house medium Carba MTL-broth for the rapid detection of carbapenemase-producing Enterobacteriaceae

open access: yesJournal of Infection in Developing Countries, 2019
Introduction: The spread of carbapenemase-producing Enterobacteriaceae (CPE) represents a major public health issue. Methods allowing rapid detection of carbapenemases in developing countries are therefore urgently needed.

Molecular epidemiology of OXA-48-producing Klebsiella pneumoniae in France [PDF]

open access: yesClinical Microbiology and Infection, 2014
We characterized 53 OXA-48-producing Klebsiella pneumoniae (OXA-48-Kp) isolated between 2011 and 2013 in 21 French hospitals. All the isolates were genotyped using MLST and PFGE and the population structure of the species was determined by a nucleotide-based analysis of the entire K. pneumoniae MLST database.

A Genomic Catalog of Migratory Microbiomes from Wild Birds across China's Habitats

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Migratory birds play an important role in the spread of antimicrobial resistance (AMR); however, gaps in surveillance data from vital regions along migratory flyways across China limit the detection of emergent threats. Here, we assembled 340 metagenomes from 52 bird species covering 11 provincial administrative districts in China, presenting ...

Genome Sequence of OXA-48 Carbapenemase-Producing Klebsiella pneumoniae KpO3210 [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Bacteriology, 2012
ABSTRACT Klebsiella pneumoniae KpO3210 is a OXA-48 carbapenemase-producing isolate obtained from a blood culture in the context of an outbreak in Hospital Universitario La Paz (Madrid, Spain) in 2010. It belongs to the major clone detected during the outbreak and is resistant to all beta-lactams and to several other ...
