The impact of oil type on the physical and oxidative stability of oil-in-water nanoemulsions: A comparative study of palm, olive, soybean, and flaxseed oils

open access: yesApplied Food Research
The oxidation of the oil phase in oil-in-water nanoemulsions affects both their sensory properties and potential toxicity. This study aimed to investigate the influence of oil type (palm, extra virigin olive, soybean, and flaxseed) on the physical and ...

Oxidative stability and tocopherol concentration of canola oil extracted using supercritical CO2

open access: yesGrasas y Aceites, 2006
In this work the characteristics of canola seed oil extracted using supercritical CO2 under different conditions and its oxidative stability were analyzed and compared with those corresponding to the oil extracted with hexane.

Enhancement in the Oxidative Stability of Commercial Gasoline Fuel by the Goethite Nanoparticles

open access: yes, 2019
It is well-established that traces of the transition metals strongly accelerate the gasoline oxidation significantly decreasing the gasoline storage time. This paper explores the opposite effect of the goethite nanoparticles on the oxidative stability of

Addition of Fish Oil to Cream Cheese Affects Lipid Oxidation, Sensory Stability and Microstructure

open access: yesAgriculture, 2012
The objective of this study was to investigate the differences in the oxidative stability during storage of fish oil enriched cream cheeses when fish oil was added either as neat oil or pre-emulsified oil with sodium caseinate, whey protein isolate, or a

Meat Composition, Fatty Acid Profile and Sensory Attributes of Meat from Goats Fed Diet Supplemented with Fermented Saccharina japonica and Dendropanax morbifera

open access: yesFoods, 2020
A 90-day feeding trial was conducted to evaluate the effects of diets supplemented with three concentrations (control or 0%, 0.5% and 1.0%) of fermented Saccharina japonica and Dendropanax morbifera (FSJ-DM) on the meat composition, growth performance ...

Spatiotemporal and quantitative analyses of phosphoinositides – fluorescent probe—and mass spectrometry‐based approaches

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Fluorescent probes allow dynamic visualization of phosphoinositides in living cells (left), whereas mass spectrometry provides high‐sensitivity, isomer‐resolved quantitation (right). Their synergistic use captures complementary aspects of lipid signaling. This review illustrates how these approaches reveal the spatiotemporal regulation and quantitative

Contributions of CO2, O2 and H2O to the Oxidative Stability of Solid Amine Direct Air Capture Sorbents at Intermediate Temperature

open access: yes, 2023
Aminopolymer-based sorbents are preferred materials for extraction of CO2 from ambient air (direct air capture of CO2, or DAC) owing to their high CO2 adsorption capacity and selectivity at ultra dilute conditions.

Time course of nutritional and functional property changes in egg yolk from laying hens fed docosahexaenoic acid-rich microalgae

open access: yesPoultry Science, 2020
Marine microalgae (MA) has received wide attention as a promising source of omega-3 long-chain polyunsaturated fatty acids (n-3 LC-PUFA) enrichment in animal products to improve the health status and wellbeing of the consumers.

Organ‐specific redox imbalances in spinal muscular atrophy mice are partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotides

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We identified a systemic, progressive loss of protein S‐glutathionylation—detected by nonreducing western blotting—alongside dysregulation of glutathione‐cycle enzymes in both neuronal and peripheral tissues of Taiwanese SMA mice. These alterations were partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotide therapy, revealing persistent redox imbalance as ...

Tau acetylation at K331 has limited impact on tau pathology in vivo

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We mapped tau post‐translational modifications in humanized MAPT knock‐in mice and in amyloid‐bearing double knock‐in mice. Acetylation within the repeat domain, particularly around K331, showed modest increases under amyloid pathology. To test functional relevance, we generated MAPTK331Q knock‐in mice.
