Microencapsulation with Maillard Reaction Products to improve the oxidative stability of chia oil [PDF]
The oil obtained from the seeds of chia (Salvia hispanica L.) is a valuable plant source of omega-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFA). Chia oil’s high PUFA content makes it an interesting source for enriching foods with these essential fatty acids, but ...

HIF1α stabilization in hypoxia is not oxidant-initiated
Hypoxic adaptation mediated by HIF transcription factors requires mitochondria, which have been implicated in regulating HIF1α stability in hypoxia by distinct models that involve consuming oxygen or alternatively converting oxygen into the second messenger peroxide.

We identified a systemic, progressive loss of protein S‐glutathionylation—detected by nonreducing western blotting—alongside dysregulation of glutathione‐cycle enzymes in both neuronal and peripheral tissues of Taiwanese SMA mice. These alterations were partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotide therapy, revealing persistent redox imbalance as ...

MEAT QUALITY OF THREE CHICKEN GENOTYPES REARED ACCORDING TO THE ORGANIC SYSTEM [PDF]
The meat quality of three poultry genotypes with differing growth rates (fast-growing Ross; medium and slow growing Kabir and Robusta maculata, respectively) was compared.

Oxidative degradation of polylactide (PLA) and its effects on physical and mechanical properties [PDF]
The thermo-oxidative degradation of polylactide (PLA) films was studied between 70 and 150 C. It was shown that the oxidative degradation of PLA leads to a random chain cission responsible for a reduction of the molar mass.

Tau acetylation at K331 has limited impact on tau pathology in vivo
We mapped tau post‐translational modifications in humanized MAPT knock‐in mice and in amyloid‐bearing double knock‐in mice. Acetylation within the repeat domain, particularly around K331, showed modest increases under amyloid pathology. To test functional relevance, we generated MAPTK331Q knock‐in mice.

Fabrication of composite fan blades using PMR A-type polyimide resin and graphite fiber reinforcement [PDF]
PMR polyimides are safe, easy to handle, can be processed with relatively wide process controls, and offer excellent mechanical properties, with thermo-oxidative stability.

Homogenization Pressure and Temperature Affect Protein Partitioning and Oxidative Stability of Emulsions [PDF]
The oxidative stability of 10 % fish oil-in-water emulsions was investigated for emulsions prepared under different homogenization conditions. Homogenization was conducted at two different pressures (5 or 22.5 MPa), and at two different temperatures (22 ...

Thermochemical stability and nonstoichiometry of erbia-stabilized bismuth oxide [PDF]
A phase study has been performed of high oxygen ion conducting erbia-stabilized bismutch oxide (1-x)Bi2O3·xEr2O3 (BE100X) using thermal analysis and X-ray powder diffraction. Investigation of the effect of a long-time (500 h) anneal of samples at 650°C in air revealed that the minimum amount of erbia needed to stabilize the high-temperature cubic ...
