Harnessing Photoenzymatic Systems for Intermolecular C–H Fluorination

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, Volume 138, Issue 5, 28 January 2026.
Despite the remarkable versatility of enzymes for catalyzing complex organic transformations under mild aqueous conditions, no biocatalytic system has been reported for intermolecular C–H fluorination. A radical photoenzymatic approach is introduced that leverages a designed de novo protein scaffold with an unnatural amino acid to achieve precise ...

Electrochemical Detection of Chloride Ions by Copper (II) Complex with Mixed Ligand of Oxindole Derivative and Dithiocarbamates Moiety

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2019
The present work describes the synthesis of a new copper (II) complex with bidentate ligands based on oxindole (indolin-2-one) derivatives, namely: 1H,1′H,1″H-[2,3′:2′,3″-terbenzo[b]pyrrol]-2″(3″H)-one (L1) and [sodium diethyldithiocarbamate (DTC)] (L2 ...

Visible light mediated aerobic oxidative hydroxylation of 2-oxindole-3-carboxylate esters: an alternative approach to 3-hydroxy-2-oxindoles

open access: yesHeterocyclic Communications, 2020
A convenient aerobic oxidative hydroxylation of 3-substituted oxindoles under mild reaction conditions is described herein. This process was accomplished by the activation of molecular oxygen in the air in the presence of a photocatalyst under the ...

Acid‐ and Nucleophile‐Gated Photoisomerization of Phosphaindirubin

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie International Edition, EarlyView.
Triply gated isomerization: In polar solvents, a phosphorus‐containing indirubin photoswitch undergoes visible‐light‐driven Z→E isomerization only when protonated, and reverts thermally via nucleophile‐catalyzed back‐isomerization. This three‐way control by light, acid, and nucleophile enables reversible photoisomerization.

Synthesis of New Indole Derivatives Structurally Related to Donepezil and Their Biological Evaluation as Acetylcholinesterase Inhibitors

open access: yesMolecules, 2012
New series of indole derivatives analogous to donepezil, a well known anti-Alzheimer and acetylcholinesterase inhibitor drug, was synthesized. A full chemical characterization of the new compounds is provided.

The Diarylprolinol Silyl Ethers: After 20 Years Still Opening New Doors in Asymmetric Catalysis

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie International Edition, EarlyView.
Catalysis Rules! The year 2025 marks the 20th anniversary of diarylprolinol silyl ethers in asymmetric organocatalysis. During the first decade after their discovery, these catalysts have been established as one of the most versatile tools in aminocatalysis. Although now considered mature, recent years have witnessed renewed innovation.

Discovery and Anticancer Screening of Novel Oxindole-Based Derivative Bearing Pyridyl Group as Potent and Selective Dual FLT3/CDK2 Kinase Inhibitor

open access: yesPharmaceuticals
Protein kinases regulate cellular activities and make up over 60% of oncoproteins and proto-oncoproteins. Among these kinases, FLT3 is a member of class III receptor tyrosine kinase family which is abundantly expressed in individuals with acute leukemia.

Harnessing Toluene Solvent as a Reactant: Regioselective Benzyl Radical Addition to Multi‐π 1,5‐Enynes in a Copper‐Catalyzed Cascade to Indenes

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, EarlyView.
A copper‐catalyzed three‐component radical cascade of 1,5‐enynes with toluene and benzoic acids enables regioselective benzyl radical addition to multi‐Π systems, efficiently delivering polysubstituted indenes from an abundant solvent feedstock. ABSTRACT C─H activation of toluene generates a benzyl radical that undergoes C─C coupling, converting an ...
