The role of DEAD- and DExH-box RNA helicases in neurodevelopmental disorders
Neurodevelopmental disorders (NDDs) represent a large group of disorders with an onset in the neonatal or early childhood period; NDDs include intellectual disability (ID), autism spectrum disorders (ASD), attention deficit hyperactivity disorders (ADHD),

Tumour–host interactions in Drosophila: mechanisms in the tumour micro‐ and macroenvironment
This review examines how tumour–host crosstalk takes place at multiple levels of biological organisation, from local cell competition and immune crosstalk to organism‐wide metabolic and physiological collapse. Here, we integrate findings from Drosophila melanogaster studies that reveal conserved mechanisms through which tumours hijack host systems to ...

Subtype‐specific enhancer RNAs define transcriptional regulators and prognosis in breast cancers
This study employed machine learning methodologies to perform the subtype‐specific classification of RNA‐seq data sets, which are mapped on enhancers from TCGA‐derived breast cancer patients. Their integration with gene expression (referred to as ProxCReAM eRNAs) and chromatin accessibility profiles has the potential to identify lineage‐specific and ...

Mean drift forces on arrays of bodies due to incident long waves
The scattering of long water waves by an array of bodies is investigated using the method of matched asymptotic expansions. Two particular geometries are considered, these are a group of vertical cylinders extending throughout the depth and a group of ...

Dimethyl fumarate (DMF) reduces growth of HPV‐positive cervical cancer spheroids and induces ferroptosis in cervical cancer cells via blocking SLC7A11/Glutathione (GSH) axis. Combination of subcytotoxic doses of DMF and cisplatin (CDDP) further suppresses spheroid growth and drives cell death in 2D culture models.

Pre‐analytical handling critically determines liquid biopsy performance. This study defines practical best‐practice conditions for cell‐free DNA (cfDNA) and extracellular vesicle–derived DNA (evDNA), showing how processing time, storage conditions, tube type, and plasma input volume affect DNA integrity and mutation detection.

The onset of unsteadiness of two-dimensional bodies falling or rising freely in a viscous fluid: a linear study [PDF]
We consider the transition between the steady vertical path and the oscillatory path of two-dimensional bodies moving under the effect of buoyancy in a viscous fluid.

Emerging trends in the disassembly of stress granules and P-bodies
Summary: Ribonucleoprotein (RNP) condensates, such as stress granules (SGs) and P-bodies (PBs), are composed of dynamic RNA-protein complexes that regulate the fate of cytoplasmic mRNA.

Loss of the miR‐214/199a cluster is associated with recurrence in ovarian cancer. Engineered small extracellular vesicles (m214‐sEVs) elevate miR‐214‐3p/miR‐199a‐5p in tumor cells, suppress β‐catenin, TLR4, and YKT6 signaling, reprogram tumor‐derived sEV cargo, reduce chemoresistance and migration, and enhance carboplatin efficacy and survival in ...
