Effects of glycyrrhizin on the pharmacokinetics of paeoniflorin in rats and its potential mechanism

open access: yesPharmaceutical Biology, 2019
Context: Paeoniflorin is reported to possess numerous pharmacological activities. Paeoniflorin and glycyrrhizin are always used together for the treatment of disease in China clinics; however, the drug–drug interaction between glycyrrhizin and ...

Effects of glycyrrhizin on the pharmacokinetics of nobiletin in rats and its potential mechanism

open access: yesPharmaceutical Biology, 2020
Context Both nobiletin (NBL) and glycyrrhizin (GL) have anti-inflammatory and antitumor properties. These agents may be co-administered in the clinic. However, the drug–drug interaction between them is not clear.

Experimental Evaluation of 100Cr6 Steel Microindented Surfaces Under Lubricated Nonconformal Point Contacts

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
The tribological behavior of 100Cr6 steel spheres textured via Vickers microindentation is evaluated under lubricated sliding by varying both dimple size and density. Fine and dense textures significantly reduce friction across all lubrication regimes, while large dimples increase it.

Influence of verapamil on the pharmacokinetics of oridonin in rats

open access: yesPharmaceutical Biology, 2019
Context: Oridonin has been traditionally used in Chinese treatment of various cancers, but its poor bioavailability limits its therapeutic uses. Verapamil can enhance the absorption of some drugs with poor oral bioavailability.

Administration of Vitamin D Metabolites Affects RNA Expression of Xenobiotic Metabolising Enzymes and Function of ABC Transporters in Rats [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
From studies on different species and in cell culture systems, it has been suggested that vitamin D metabolites might affect themetabolism and elimination of xenobiotics.

Innovative Processing of Compacted Waste Aluminum Alloy Powders via Controlled Remelting and Solidification

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This study demonstrates an efficient recycling route for out‐of‐spec AlSi10Mg atomized powders through compaction and arc remelting followed by suction casting. By correlating compaction load, cooling rate, and resulting microstructure, we show that intermediate pressures (50–80 kN) and rapid cooling refine dendrites, reduce porosity, and enhance ...

Enhanced Autophagy reveals vulnerability of P-gp mediated Epirubicin Resistance in Triple Negative Breast Cancer Cells

open access: yesApoptosis, 2016
Epirubicin (EPI) is widely used for triple negative breast cancer (TNBC), but a substantial number of patients develop EPI resistance that is associated with poor outcome. The underlying mechanism for EPI resistance remains poorly understood.

Additive Gaussian Process Regression for Predictive Design of High‐Performance, Printable Silicones

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A chemistry‐aware design framework for tuning printable polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) for vat photopolymerization (VPP) is developed using additive Gaussian process (GP) modeling. Polymer network mechanics informs variable groupings, feasible formulation constraints, and interaction variables.

Infinite root stacks and quasi-coherent sheaves on logarithmic schemes [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
We define and study infinite root stacks of fine and saturated logarithmic schemes, a limit version of the root stacks introduced by Niels Borne and the second author.
