Combinatorial targeting of G‐protein‐coupled bile acid receptor 1 and cysteinyl leukotriene receptor 1 reveals a mechanistic role for bile acids and leukotrienes in drug‐induced liver injury

open access: yesHepatology, EarlyView., 2022
CHIN117 is a dual cysteinyl leukotriene receptor 1 (CYSLTR1) antagonist and G‐protein‐coupled bile acid receptor 1 (GPBAR1) agonist. In the liver, GPBAR1 and CYSLTR1 are coexpressed by liver sinusoidal endothelial cells (LSECs), HSCs, circulating monocytes/macrophages, and liver resident macrophages (Kupffer cells).

Effects of astragalus polysaccharide on the adhesion-related immune response of endothelial cells stimulated with CSFV in vitro [PDF]

open access: yesPeerJ, 2017
Background Astragalus polysaccharide (APS) has immunomodulatory activities on porcine peripheral blood mononuclear cells. The immunomodulatory effects of APS on porcine endothelial cells (ECs) expose to classical swine fever virus (CSFV) remain unknown ...

Biodistribution of P-selectin targeted microbubbles [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Drug Targeting, 2014
To evaluate binding of P-selectin targeted microbubbles (MB) in tumor vasculature; a whole-body imaging and biodistribution study was performed in a tumor bearing mouse model.Antibodies were radiolabeled with Tc-99 m using the HYNIC method. Tc-99 m labeled anti-P-selectin antibodies were avidin-bound to lipid-shelled, perfluorocarbon gas-filled MB and ...

Myrtucommulone from Myrtus communis exhibits potent anti-inflammatory effectiveness in vivo. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
Myrtucommulone a nonprenylated acylphloroglucinol contained in the leaves of myrtle (Myrtus communis), has been reported to suppress the biosynthesis of eicosanoids by inhibition of 5-lipoxygenase and cyclooxygenase-1 in vitro and to inhibit the release ...

P‐selectin in haemostasis [PDF]

open access: yesBritish Journal of Haematology, 2004
SummaryDuring the past decade, interrelationships between inflammation and thrombosis have been the subject of extensive works, and it is now commonly recognized that inflammation (notably leucocyte recruitment) directly affects thrombosis, and that thrombosis also constitutes a pro‐inflammatory event.

Soluble P- and E-selectin levels as determinants of vaso-occlusive crises among sickle cell anemia patients in a tertiary hospital Northwestern Nigeria

open access: yesIraqi Journal of Hematology, 2020
BACKGROUND: Vascular E- and P-selectins play important roles in sickle cell anemia (SCA), vaso-occlusive crises (VOC); however, the extent to which they determine VOC has not been studied.

Innate immune basis for rift valley fever susceptibility in mouse models [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Rift Valley fever virus (RVFV) leads to varied clinical manifestations in animals and in humans that range from moderate fever to fatal illness, suggesting that host immune responses are important determinants of the disease severity. We investigated the

P-selectin binds to bacterial lipopolysaccharide [PDF]

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Immunology, 1998
Multiple organ failure associated with disseminated intravascular coagulation is a frequent complication in septic shock patients. Accumulation of platelets and neutrophils in the organs contributes to the manifestation of lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-induced organ failure.

The vimentin rod domain blocks P-selectin-P-selectin glycoprotein ligand 1 interactions to attenuate leukocyte adhesion to inflamed endothelium.

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2020
Acute inflammation begins with leukocyte P-selectin glycoprotein ligand-1 (PSGL-1) binding to P-selectin on inflamed endothelium and platelets. In pathologic conditions, this process may contribute to secondary organ damage, like sepsis-induced liver ...
