Characterization and diagnostic potential of hepatitis B virus nucleocapsid expressed in E. coli and P. pastoris.

open access: yesJournal of Virological Methods, 2002
The hepatitis B core antigen (HBcAg) was expressed in Escherichia coli and in Pichia pastoris. A hexahistidine tag was introduced at the C terminus of the E. coli expressed protein allowing its purification by Ni(2+)-chelate affinity chromatography. The P. pastoris expressed HBcAg was isolated following heat treatment.

Economical production of Pichia pastoris single cell protein from methanol at industrial pilot scale

open access: yesMicrobial Cell Factories, 2023
Background Methanol, synthesized from CO_2, is a potentially sustainable one-carbon (C1) resource for biomanufacturing. The use of methanol as a feedstock to produce single cell protein (SCP) has been investigated for decades as an alternative to ...

Combination of Genetic Manipulation Improved Saccharomycopsis fibuligera α-Amylase Secretion by Pichia pastoris

open access: yesIndonesian Journal of Chemistry, 2019
This study assessed the combinations of genetic manipulation; signal peptide modification, gene dosage increment and co-expression of folding component, to increase Saccharomycopsis fibuligera R64 α-amylase (Sfamy) secretion in Pichia pastoris.

Extracellular Production of the Taiwan-Native Norovirus P Domain Overexpressed in Pichia pastoris

open access: yesFermentation, 2023
Many efforts in norovirus vaccine development have focused on subunit or recombinant protein vaccines, such as subviral P particles formed by the protruding (P) domain of VP1. P particles are immunogenic and have a region with a human histo-blood group antigen binding site, an interaction critical for infecting the host. In the past, only intracellular

Presep: predicting the propensity of a protein being secreted into the supernatant when expressed in Pichia pastoris. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2013
Pichia pastoris is commonly used for the production of recombinant proteins due to its preferential secretion of recombinant proteins, resulting in lower production costs and increased yields of target proteins.

Stereoselective Biotransformation: Transfer of Learning to Advance Drug Metabolism and Biocatalysis

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
Understanding stereoselective biotransformations has implications for predicting drug disposition and response and may also inspire novel biocatalytic and biomimetic strategies to address challenges in metabolite and API synthesis. ABSTRACT Chirality is an important determinant of drug action, as enantiomers can exhibit markedly different ...

Efficient display of active lipase LipB52 with a Pichia pastoris cell surface display system and comparison with the LipB52 displayed on Saccharomyces cerevisiae cell surface

open access: yesBMC Biotechnology, 2008
Background For industrial bioconversion processes, the utilization of surface-displayed lipase in the form of whole-cell biocatalysts is more advantageous, because the enzymes are displayed on the cell surface spontaneously, regarded as immobilized ...
