Real‐Time Biomass Estimation in High‐Density Yeast Fermentations Using Soft Sensor Modeling
Accurate biomass measurements, both offline and online, are essential to improve prediction and control in yeast fermentation. This study develops regression‐based predictive models to correlate offline measurements (Dry Cell Weight and OD600 from a spectrophotometer) with online OD860 probe signals to provide accurate real‐time biomass estimations and

A Method for Rapid Screening, Expression, and Purification of Antimicrobial Peptides
In this study, a method for the rapid screening, expression and purification of antimicrobial peptides (AMPs) was developed. AMP genes were fused to a heat-resistant CL7 tag using the SLOPE method, and cloned into Escherichia coli and Pichia pastoris ...

Expression of functional plant lectins in heterologous systems [PDF]
The mannose-binding lectin from snowdrop (Galanthus nivalis agglutinin; GNA) was produced in Escherichia coli and purified as a functional protein after denturation/renaturation.

Cell surface display of functionally active lipases from Yarrowia lipolytica in Pichia pastoris
The lipase genes of Yarrowia lipolytica, LIPY7 and LIPY8, fused with FLO-flocculation domain sequence from Saccharomyces cerevisiae at their N-termini, were expressed in Pichia pastoris KM71.

Adaptive Genomic Divergence Across Altitudes in Capsella bursa‐pastoris
Genomic divergence was observed between high‐altitude and low‐altitude populations of Capsella bursa‐pastoris in China, consistent with an important role of ecological factors. Candidate adaptive loci associated with enhanced energy metabolism, photoprotection, and growth plasticity under altitudinal stress were identified.

Ecophysiological approaches to enhance production of the anti-cancer drug taxol by paraconiothyrium variabile and epiccocum nigrum and lysozyme by pichia pastoris [PDF]
This study has investigated the interaction of ecophysiological factors such as water activity (aw), temperature, pH and solute types on (a) the production of the anti-cancer drug taxol by the endophytic fungi Parachoniothyrium variabile and Epcoccum ...

The power of many: when genetics met yeasts and high‐throughput
ABSTRACT In recent years, complex technological capabilities have evolved, driven by the need to solve complex and integrative biological questions through global analyses. New equipment allows the scaling up and automation of processes which previously were carried out on a very limited scale.
