A USP28–53BP1–p53–p21 signaling axis arrests growth after centrosome loss or prolonged mitosis

open access: yesJournal of Cell Biology, 2016
Lambrus et al. show that centrosome loss or a prolonged mitosis activates a USP28–53BP1–p53–p21 signaling axis that prevents the growth of cells with an increased propensity for mitotic errors.

Structural Exploration of Zirconium Metal–Organic Frameworks Through Linker Desymmetrization and Modulator Compensation

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
A linker‐desymmetrization‐modulator‐compensation (LDMC) strategy for constructing structurally diverse Zr‐MOFs is reported. This approach reduces linker symmetry to create defects in Zr‐clusters, which can be compensated for by modulator coordination. Using this approach, we synthesized PCN‐1005 and PCN‐1006, featuring unprecedented Zr‐clusters. In PCN‐

Functional Characterization of LTR12C as Regulators of Germ-Cell-Associated TA-p63 in U87-MG and T98-G In Vitro Models

open access: yesCells
Glioblastoma multiforme (GBM) is a deadly disease known for its genetic heterogeneity. LTR12C is an endogenous retrovirus-derived regulator of pro-apoptotic genes and is normally silenced by epigenetic regulation.

LincRNA-p21 Inhibits Cell Viability and Promotes Cell Apoptosis in Parkinson's Disease through Activating α-Synuclein Expression

open access: yesBioMed Research International, 2018
Long intergenic noncoding RNA-p21 (lincRNA-p21) has been reported to be increased in Parkinson's disease (PD). However, the function and underlying mechanisms of lincRNA-p21 remain not clear.

Bicomplex Hamiltonian systems in Quantum Mechanics

open access: yes, 2015
We investigate bicomplex Hamiltonian systems in the framework of an analogous version of the Schrodinger equation. Since in such a setting three different types of conjugates of bicomplex numbers appear, each is found to define in a natural way, a ...

Bay‐functionalized [7]Helicene Bilayer Nanographenes

open access: yesAdvanced Optical Materials, EarlyView.
Bay‐functionalized [7]helical bilayer nanographenes are synthesized via a scalable, modular strategy enabling late‐stage diversification. Tailored methoxy, diketone, and phenazine substitutions precisely tune redox, photophysical, and chiroptical properties, delivering strong electronic circular dichroism and bright circularly polarized luminescence ...

ROS Activated NETosis of Bone Marrow CD55+ Intermediate Mature Neutrophils Through HIF1α‐PADI4 Pathway to Initiate Bone Aging

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
In this study, we find CD55+ neutrophils show activated NETosis within bone marrow, induce BMSC senescence and osteogenesis inhibition, finally leading to bone aging initiation. Mechanistically, ROS synergizes with the CD55‐driven HIF1α‐PADI4 pathway to promote NETosis.

Bacteria and Fungi Synergistically Reprogram Flavonoid Metabolites in the Pericarp of Citrus Reticulata 'Chachi' During Storage

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The authors employed widely targeted metabolomics, microbial amplicon sequencing, and fermentation assays to investigate the microbiome 's influence on PCRC 's (pericarp of Citrus reticulata ' Chachi ') flavonoid profile over 0–19 years of storage. Based on the correlation analysis, solid‐state and liquid‐state fermentation, and catalytic activity ...

LincRNA-p21 Inhibits the Wnt/β-Catenin Pathway in Activated Hepatic Stellate Cells via Sponging MicroRNA-17-5p

open access: yesCellular Physiology and Biochemistry, 2017
Background/Aims: It is known that the activation of hepatic stellate cells (HSCs) is a pivotal step in the initiation and progression of liver fibrosis.
