The epithelial barrier theory proposes a comprehensive explanation for the origins of allergic and other chronic noncommunicable diseases

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Exposure to common noxious agents (1), including allergens, pollutants, and micro‐nanoplastics, can cause epithelial barrier damage (2) in our body's protective linings. This may trigger an immune response to our microbiome (3). The epithelial barrier theory explains how this process can lead to chronic noncommunicable diseases (4) affecting organs ...

Palladium-Mediated Reductive Heck Cyclization for the Synthesis of Fused Retinoid Derivatives

open access: yesSynOpen, 2023
Linearly fused retinoid derivatives have been synthesized via a straightforward pathway using a palladium-catalyzed reductive Heck cyclization strategy. The synthesis involved a four-step linear approach utilizing iodination, sulfonylation or benzylation

TOMM20 as a driver of cancer aggressiveness via oxidative phosphorylation, maintenance of a reduced state, and resistance to apoptosis

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
TOMM20 increases cancer aggressiveness by maintaining a reduced state with increased NADH and NADPH levels, oxidative phosphorylation (OXPHOS), and apoptosis resistance while reducing reactive oxygen species (ROS) levels. Conversely, CRISPR‐Cas9 knockdown of TOMM20 alters these cancer‐aggressive traits.

Dendritic defect-rich palladium–copper–cobalt nanoalloys as robust multifunctional non-platinum electrocatalysts for fuel cells

open access: yesNature Communications, 2018
Recently, the development of high-performance non-platinum electrocatalysts for fuel cell applications has been gaining attention. Palladium-based nanoalloys are considered as promising candidates to substitute platinum catalysts for cathodic and anodic ...

Plasma lipidomic and metabolomic profiles in high‐grade glioma patients before and after 72‐h presurgery water‐only fasting

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Presurgery 72‐h fasting in GB patients leads to adaptations of plasma lipids and polar metabolites. Fasting reduces lysophosphatidylcholines and increases free fatty acids, shifts triglycerides toward long‐chain TGs and increases branched‐chain amino acids, alpha aminobutyric acid, and uric acid.

EXTRACTION OF PALLADIUM

open access: yesAzerbaijan Chemical Journal, 2021
It is known that a series of organic compounds containing in molecule SH-, NH- qroups, including halogens, carboxylic acids and their derivatives, have the ability to form the innercomplex compounds under certain conditions. These compounds permit to carry out the extraction in acidic medium, that prevents the of process hydrolysis.

Preparation of an Epoxide Precursor for Palladium-Catalyzed Trimethylenemethane Cycloaddition [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
In order to produce a highly functionalized five-membered ring useful for further synthetic processes via palladium catalysis, a series of precursors need to be synthesized in order to form the epoxide used in cyclic formation.

Parity Violation in Neutron Resonances of Palladium

open access: yes, 2002
Parity violation in p-wave neutron resonances of the palladium isotopes 104, 105, 106, and 108 has been measured by transmission of a longitudinally polarized neutron beam through a natural palladium target.

Selective ensembles in supported palladium sulfide nanoparticles for alkyne semi-hydrogenation

open access: yesNature Communications, 2018
Ensemble control has been intensively pursued for decades to identify sustainable alternatives to the Lindlar catalyst (PdPb/CaCO3) applied for the partial hydrogenation of alkynes in industrial organic synthesis.
