New alkaloids from Polygonatum zanlanscianense Pamp

open access: yesNatural Product Research, 2023
Sixteen alkaloid compounds were isolated from the dried rhizomes of P. zanlanscianense, including a pair of new enantiomers (R/S)-7'-ethoxy-trans-p-couma-royltyramine (1a/1b) and 14 known compounds (2-14) isolated from this plant for the first time.

A Toll for lupus [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
Toll-like receptor (TLR)-9 recognizes CpG motifs in microbial DNA. TLR9 signalling stimulates innate antimicrobial immunity and modulates adaptive immune responses including autoimmunity against chromatin, e.g., in systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE ...

Self-Organized Nanoparticles of Random and Block Copolymers of Sodium 2-(Acrylamido)-2-methyl-1-propanesulfonate and Sodium 11-(Acrylamido)undecanoate as Safe and Effective Zika Virus Inhibitors

open access: yesPharmaceutics, 2022
A series of anionic homopolymers, poly(sodium 2-(acrylamido)-2-methyl-1-propanesulfonate) (PAMPS) and amphiphilic copolymers of AMPS and sodium 11-(acrylamido)undecanoate (AaU), both block (PAMPS75-b-PAaUn), and random (P(AMPSm-co-AaUn)), were ...

PAMP-triggered immunity [PDF]

open access: yesPlant Signaling & Behavior, 2008
The Arabidopsis FLAGELLIN SENSITIVE2 (FLS2) protein is a leucine-rich repeat receptor-like kinase (LRR-RLK) that plays important roles in pathogen-associated molecular pattern (PAMP)-triggered immunity (PTI). The binding of bacterial flagellin, one of the PAMPs, to the extracellular domain of FLS2 leads to activation of signaling cascades resulting in ...

An RxLR effector from phytophthora infestans prevents re-localisation of two plant NAC transcription factors from the endoplasmic reticulum to the nucleus [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
The plant immune system is activated following the perception of exposed, essential and invariant microbial molecules that are recognised as non-self. A major component of plant immunity is the transcriptional induction of genes involved in a wide array ...

PAMPS/PVA/MMT Semi-Interpenetrating Polymer Network Hydrogel Electrolyte for Solid-State Supercapacitors

open access: yesInternational Journal of Electrochemical Science, 2019
Polyelectrolyte hydrogels have great potential as gel-polymer electrolytes (GPE) because of their low-cost and environmental benefits. Here a polyelectrolyte hydrogel of high ionic conductivities and mechanical properties was developed via the formation ...

PORTABLE ACOUSTIC MONITORING PACKAGE (PAMP) [PDF]

open access: yes, 2003
The 1st generation acoustic monitoring package was designed to detect and analyze weak acoustic signals inside natural gas transmission lines. Besides a microphone it housed a three-inch diameter aerodynamic acoustic signal amplifier to maximize sensitivity to leak induced {Delta}p type signals.

Poly (ionic liquid) Based on Modified Ionic Polyacrylamide for Inhibition Steel Corrosion in Acid Solution

open access: yesInternational Journal of Electrochemical Science, 2015
The green method to protect steel from corrosion becomes target for corrosion science. In this work, synthesis of new poly(ionic liquid) as green inhibitor with lower concentration is used to protect carbon steel from aci corrosion. In this respect, poly(

Modulation of porcine intestinal epitheliocytes immunetranscriptome response by Lactobacillus jensenii TL2937 [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
In order to evaluate probiotic strains applicable for the beneficial immunomodulation of the porcine gut (immunobiotics), we previously developed a porcine intestinal epitheliocyte cell line (PIE cells).

Pathogenic aspects of fructose consumption in metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD): A narrative review

open access: yesCell Stress
Metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD), formerly referred to non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD), has become a global health concern with a still increasing prevalence.
