AIM/CD5L attenuates DAMPs in the injured brain and thereby ameliorates ischemic stroke
Summary: The sterile inflammation caused by damage-associated molecular patterns (DAMPs) worsens the prognosis following primary injury such as ischemic stroke. However, there are no effective treatments to regulate DAMPs.

Silibinin induces immunogenic cell death in cancer cells and enhances the induced immunogenicity by chemotherapy [PDF]
Introduction: Silibinin is a natural flavonoid compound known to induce apoptosis in cancer cells. Despite silibinin's safety and efficacy as an anticancer drug, its effects on inducing immunogenic cell death (ICD) are largely unknown.

Pseudospectra of the Damped Wave Equation with Unbounded Damping [PDF]
We analyze pseudospectra of the generator of the damped wave equation with unbounded damping. We show that the resolvent norm diverges as $\Re z \to - \infty$. The highly non-normal character of the operator is a robust effect preserved even when a strong potential is added.

DAMP-mediated inflammation and regulated cell death in immunoinflammatory rheumatic diseases
The state of autoreactivity of innate immunity dominates in the pathogenesis of immunoinflammatory rheumatic diseases, inducing non-infectious “sterile” inflammation.

DAMPs, ageing, and cancer: The ‘DAMP Hypothesis’ [PDF]
Ageing is a complex and multifactorial process characterized by the accumulation of many forms of damage at the molecular, cellular, and tissue level with advancing age. Ageing increases the risk of the onset of chronic inflammation-associated diseases such as cancer, diabetes, stroke, and neurodegenerative disease.
