Effect of the transcription factor YY1 on the development of pancreatic endocrine and exocrine tumors: a narrative review

open access: yesCell & Bioscience, 2021
Pancreatic tumors are classified into endocrine and exocrine types, and the clinical manifestations in patients are nonspecific. Most patients, especially those with pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC), have lost the opportunity to receive for the ...

Leiomyosarcoma of the pancreas [PDF]

open access: yesHPB, 2001
This is a single case report of a rare tumour, pancreatic leiomyosarcoma.A 44-year-old woman presented with a painless epigastric mass, and CT scan showed a cystic lesion of the head of pancreas. An associated epigastric mass was found to be a lipoma. Pancreatoduodenectomy was successfully performed.

The artificial pancreas

open access: yesCurrent Opinion in Organ Transplantation, 2020
Purpose of review Advances in diabetes technologies have enabled the development of artificial pancreas (closed-loop) systems for people with diabetes. We review the key studies which have led to the adoption of the artificial pancreas in clinical practice and consider ongoing challenges and areas for future enhancements.

Cancer‐testis gene STK31 is regulated by methylation and promotes the development of pancreatic cancer

open access: yesCancer Medicine, 2023
Backgroud Pancreatic cancer (PC) is a highly invasive malignancy with extremely poor prognosis. STK31 has been identified as a cancer‐testis (CT) gene, but its function in PC has not been elucidated well. Methods The effect of STK31 on cell proliferation,

Decoding the dual role of autophagy in cancer through transcriptional and epigenetic regulation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Transcriptional and epigenetic regulation controls autophagy, which exerts context‐dependent effects on cancer: Autophagy suppresses tumorigenesis by maintaining cellular homeostasis or promotes tumor progression by supporting survival under stress. In this “In a Nutshell” article, we explore the intricate mechanisms of the dual function of autophagy ...
