Combinatorial targeting of G‐protein‐coupled bile acid receptor 1 and cysteinyl leukotriene receptor 1 reveals a mechanistic role for bile acids and leukotrienes in drug‐induced liver injury

open access: yesHepatology, EarlyView., 2022
CHIN117 is a dual cysteinyl leukotriene receptor 1 (CYSLTR1) antagonist and G‐protein‐coupled bile acid receptor 1 (GPBAR1) agonist. In the liver, GPBAR1 and CYSLTR1 are coexpressed by liver sinusoidal endothelial cells (LSECs), HSCs, circulating monocytes/macrophages, and liver resident macrophages (Kupffer cells).

Investigation of the effect of paracetamol against glutamate-induced cytotoxicity in C6 glia cells

open access: yesCumhuriyet Science Journal, 2021
Paracetamol is an active metabolite with analgesic and antipyretic properties of phenacetin, which is sold without a prescription in our country and in many countries.

Long‐term adverse effects of paracetamol – a review

open access: yesBritish Journal of Clinical Pharmacology, 2018
Paracetamol (acetaminophen) is the most commonly used drug in the world, with a long record of use in acute and chronic pain. In recent years, the benefits of paracetamol use in chronic conditions has been questioned, notably in the areas of ...

Ultramicronized Palmitoylethanolamide and Paracetamol, a New Association to Relieve Hyperalgesia and Pain in a Sciatic Nerve Injury Model in Rat

open access: yesInternational Journal of Molecular Sciences, 2020
Inflammation is known to be an essential trigger of the pathological changes that have a critical impact on nerve repair and regeneration; moreover, damage to peripheral nerves can cause a loss of sensory function and produces persistent neuropathic pain.

Factors Associated with Severe Disease from Malaria, Pneumonia and Diarrhea among Children in Rural Tanzania - a Hospital-Based Cross-Sectional Study. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Mild cases of malaria, pneumonia and diarrhea are readily treatable with complete recovery and with inexpensive and widely available first-line drugs. However, treatment is complicated and expensive, and mortality is higher when children present to the ...

Clinical effectiveness and treatment satisfaction between two triple‐therapy regimens in treating neuropathic pain: A real‐world data

open access: yesIbrain, EarlyView., 2023
This study compared the clinical effectiveness and treatment satisfaction of Pregabalin and Gabapentin triple therapy for neuropathic pain in a real‐world setting. The primary outcome measured the reduction in mean Self‐Administered Leeds Assessment of Neuropathic Symptoms and Signs pain score value from baseline to 12 weeks posttreatment.

Paracetamol use in pregnancy: Not as safe as we may think?

open access: yesActa Obstetricia et Gynecologica Scandinavica, 2023
Paracetamol is used by more than 50% of women worldwide during pregnancy; headache representing the most frequent indication. Several studies report that long‐term exposure to paracetamol in utero is associated with adverse neurodevelopmental outcomes in

Impact of paracetamol pack size restrictions on poisoning from paracetamol in England and Wales: an observational study.

open access: yes, 2005
BACKGROUND: About 500 drug poisoning deaths involving paracetamol (acetaminophen) occur every year in England and Wales. To reduce the number of deaths, regulations were introduced in 1998 to restrict the sale of paracetamol.

sGDML: Constructing Accurate and Data Efficient Molecular Force Fields Using Machine Learning [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
We present an optimized implementation of the recently proposed symmetric gradient domain machine learning (sGDML) model. The sGDML model is able to faithfully reproduce global potential energy surfaces (PES) for molecules with a few dozen atoms from a ...
