This paper presents a path following controller for quadrotors to follow splines in the output space. The control pipeline includes utilization of a cascaded control architecture, generation of paths using quintic spline interpolation, transformation of coordinates using Frenet-Serret (FS) frames, and decoupling controllers for the transversal and ...

Metaphor and the Social World, 2016
This paper examines conceptual metaphor use by graduate-student writing consultants in a university writing center. Our goal was to develop a taxonomy for consultant metaphor in asynchronous online consultations; to find evidence that consultants could produce deliberate metaphors as an instructional strategy when responding asynchronously by e-mail to

Prediction in social path following
Proceedings of the Seventh International Conference on Motion in Games, 2014Path following in games mostly focuses on avoiding collisions with dynamic physical objects that appear along a chosen path to a given destination. Some work also attempts to humanize the abstract path returned by a path finding algorithm through methods like smoothing.

Following an Unconventional Writing Path
2023This chapter is written from the perspective of a non-Western female research student who has English as an additional language and was taught to adhere to the established academic writing norms. She joined the “Medusa's” reading group and departing radically in academic writing (DRAW), which guarantee a safe space to encourage research students to ...

Path following for an autonomous paraglider
49th IEEE Conference on Decision and Control (CDC), 2010This paper addresses the path following problem for an autonomous parafoil-payload system. The actuated dynamics of the system is first detailed. Local exponential stability of an input-output feedback linearizing control is proved, achieving a stable line following in the XY plane by using only lateral directional control input.

Path Following for Unicycle Robots With an Arbitrary Path Curvature
IEEE Transactions on Robotics, 2011A new feedback control model is provided that allows a wheeled vehicle to follow a prescribed path. Differently from all other methods in the literature, the method that is proposed neither requires the computation of a projection of the robot position on the path, nor does it need to consider a moving virtual target to be tracked.

Path-Flyer: A Benchmark of Quadrotor Path Following Algorithms
2019 IEEE 15th International Conference on Control and Automation (ICCA), 2019This paper presents Path-Flyer, a simulation benchmark for testing path following algorithms on a quadrotor vehicle. A complete and realistic mathematical model, based on the real Asctec Hummingbird quadrotor, is described. Wind disturbance and noise on the measured states are also included in the benchmark and can be customized.
