Radiotherapy Enhancement by Gold Nanocluster‐functionalized Nanoliposomes Using Polychromatic Orthovoltage X‐ray Irradiation

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
Lipid drug carriers to which ultra‐small gold nanoparticles were added enabled more efficient radiotherapy of cultured pancreatic cancer tumors. These nanoparticles boosted radiation‐induced damage to tumors by generating more reactive molecules, though higher gold levels are needed for strong benefits.

MiR-429 Determines Poor Outcome and Inhibits Pancreatic Ductal Adenocarcinoma Growth by Targeting TBK1

open access: yesCellular Physiology and Biochemistry, 2015
Background: Pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC) ranks fourth on the list of cancer-related causes of death and its prognosis has not improved significantly over the past decades. Deregulation or dysfunction of miRNAs contribute to cancer development.

The combination of PKM2 overexpression and M2 macrophages infiltration confers a poor prognosis for PDAC patients

open access: yesJournal of Cancer, 2020
Macrophages play a critical role in the initiation and progression in various human solid tumors; however, their role and transformation in pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC) were still illusive.

AI‐Powered Framework for Evaluating Drug Efficacy for Three‐Dimensional In Vitro Cancer Models in Robot‐Assisted Production

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
An AI‐powered, robot‐assisted framework automatically produces, images, and analyzes 3D tumor spheroids to evaluate drug efficacy. Integrated modules handle spheroid formation, live/dead staining, brightfield imaging, and automated image analysis, including spheroid segmentation, viability and metrics to assess the drug treatment efficacy. The workflow

Tailoring Vascular‐Immune Homeostasis via Manganese‐DNA Complex‐Armed Immunogenic Extracellular Vesicles for Pancreatic Cancer Immunotherapy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study demonstrates that Mn2⁺–tumor DNA complexes encapsulated in dendritic cell (DC)– derived immunogenic extracellular vesicles (EVDC@Mn‐DNA) act as a DC‐specific cGAS– STING activator. EVDC@Mn‐DNA treatment enhances intratumoral DC activation, improves tumor vascular function, promotes CD8⁺ T cell activity, and suppresses pancreatic tumor growth,

Impact of comprehensive family history and genetic analysis in the multidisciplinary pancreatic tumor clinic setting

open access: yesCancer Medicine, 2023
Background Genetic testing is recommended for all pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC) patients. Prior research demonstrates that multidisciplinary pancreatic cancer clinics (MDPCs) improve treatment‐ and survival‐related outcomes for PDAC patients ...

Lactylation‐Driven YTHDC1 Alleviates MASLD by Suppressing PTPN22‐Mediated Dephosphorylation of NLRP3

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
In MASLD, YTHDC1 undergoes increased lactylation and ubiquitination, reducing its expression. AARS1 mediates lactylation at lysine 565, while disrupted binding to LDHA further promotes lactylation, suppressing YTHDC1. This downregulation enhances PTPN22 mRNA stability, leading to NLRP3 dephosphorylation and activation, which exacerbates inflammation ...
