Aims Adherence to disease‐modifying antirheumatic drugs (DMARDs) has been associated with improved treatment outcomes, but how adherence is reported ranges between studies. We therefore aimed to determine how nonadherence to DMARDs used to treat rheumatoid arthritis (RA) has been measured and to report the nonadherence rate with each measure identified.

Clinoptilolite is used as an adsorbent to remove heavy metal cations due to its function as a molecular sieve. This molecular sieve characteristic has made it possible to study the efficiency of clinoptilolite and D-Penicillamine in a comparative way in ...

Chiral Imprinting on Inorganic Nanoparticles for Enantioselective Surface Recognition
Chiral imprinting on titanium dioxide (TiO2) nanoparticles is achieved by introducing a chiral ligand during nucleation and growth. After ligand removal by ultraviolet (UV) irradiation, enantioselectivity is demonstrated via refunctionalization in a racemic mixture, where the surface preferentially binds the original enantiomer. These results show that

Validity of D-penicillamine in experimental cerebral vasospasm therapy
Background: Cerebral vasospasm is a reversible vessel constriction following subarachnoid hemorrhage. Immunoreactive and inflammatory mechanisms induce long-term vasoconstriction and vessel dilatation inhibition.

Abstract DNA methylation controls DNA accessibility to transcription factors and other regulatory proteins, thereby affecting gene expression and hence cellular identity and function. As epigenetic modifications control the transcriptome, epigenetic dysfunction is strongly associated with pathological conditions and ageing.

A stress‐responsive folding promotor was developed by conjugating metal‐binding ligands and a redox‐active disulfide. The oxidative strength of the bifunctional disulfide was enhanced by metal coordination, inhibiting protein misfolding and up‐regulating the oxidative folding capacity under metal stress.

Background and Purpose Methanobactins are peptides with high copper affinity and potential to treat Wilson disease. We examined how two methanobactins (ARBM101 and MB‐OB3b) affected copper handling in the LPP Atp7b−/− Wilson disease rat model, compared to penicillamine or saline, by 64Cu positron emission tomography/magnetic resonance imaging ...
