Effects of Pentachlorophenol, Pentylenetetrazol and Carnitine on Mitochondria
Pentachlorophenol (PCP) increased oxygen consumption and lowered the respiratory control ratio (RCR) in mitochondria from rat liver. These effects of PCP were lessened by 1 mM L-carnitine but not by D-carnitine. In contrast, up to 150 mM of pentylenetetrazol (PTZ) added at state 4 of respiration did not accelerate oxygen consumption.

Closed-loop neural stimulation for pentylenetetrazole-induced seizures in zebrafish
SUMMARY Neural stimulation can reduce the frequency of seizures in persons with epilepsy, but rates of seizure-free outcome are low. Vagus nerve stimulation prevents seizures by continuously activating noradrenergic projections from the brainstem to the ...

Interaction between carbenoxolone and valproic acid on pentylenetetrazole kindling model of epilepsy
Gap junctions play an important role in the synchronized neuronal discharges. The main reason of the epileptic seizures is disruption of this synchronization.

Reversal of pentylenetetrazole-induced seizure activity in mice by nickel chloride
Objective: The present study was designed to investigate the anticonvulsant potential of nickel which is shown to selectively block t-type calcium channels by using nickel choride on pentylenetetrazole (80 mg/kg) induced seizure activity model in mice ...
