Peptide Bioinformatics- Peptide Classification Using Peptide Machines [PDF]
Peptides scanned from whole protein sequences are the core information for many peptide bioinformatics research such as functional site prediction, protein structure identification, and protein function recognition. In these applications, we normally need to assign a peptide to one of the given categories using a computer model.

Preferred Configurations of Peptide–Peptide Interactions
The natural and fundamental proclivities of interaction between a pair of peptide units are examined using high-level ab initio calculations. The NH···O H-bonded structure is found to be the most stable configuration of the N-methylacetamide (NMA) model dimer, but only slightly more so than a stacked arrangement.

Dual-acting stapled peptides target both HIV-1 entry and assembly [PDF]
Background: Previously, we reported the conversion of the 12-mer linear and cell-impermeable peptide CAI to a cell-penetrating peptide NYAD-1 by using an i,i + 4 hydrocarbon stapling technique and confirmed its binding to the C-terminal domain (CTD ...

As natural host defense compounds produced by numerous prokaryotic and eukaryotic life forms, antimicrobial peptides (AMPs) are now emerging as solid candidate chemotherapeutic drugs to fight against the various types of pathogenic Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria, especially those resistant to current antibiotics [...]

Structural and thermodynamic approach to peptide immunogenicity [PDF]
In the conventional paradigm of humoral immunity, B cells recognize their cognate antigen target in its native form. However, it is well known that relatively unstable peptides bearing only partial structural resemblance to the native protein can trigger

A Condensation-Ordering Mechanism in Nanoparticle-Catalyzed Peptide Aggregation [PDF]
Nanoparticles introduced in living cells are capable of strongly promoting the aggregation of peptides and proteins. We use here molecular dynamics simulations to characterise in detail the process by which nanoparticle surfaces catalyse the self ...
