Effects of CPPU on fruit set and fruit growth in Japanese persimmon
Scientia Horticulturae, 1995Abstract The effects of hand-pollination and spraying with N-(2-chloro-4-pyridyl)-N′-phenylurea (CPPU) on fruit set and fruit growth of ‘Matsumoto-Wase-Fuyu’, which is a member of the pollination-constant, non-astringent group of persimmons (PCNA) were investigated. Staminate flowers of pollinizers in the orchard were eliminated before anthesis. Hand-

Partial Purification of Latent Persimmon Fruit Polyphenol Oxidase
Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry, 2003Persimmon fruit polyphenol oxidase (PPO) was partially purified using a combination of phase partitioning with Triton X-114 and ammonium sulfate fractionation between 50 and 75%. The enzyme, which showed both monophenolase and diphenolase activities, was partially purified in a latent form and could be optimally activated by the presence of 1 mM sodium

Mediterranean Fruit Fly Control on Persimmon, 1989
Insecticide and Acaricide Tests, 1993Abstract The study was conducted at 3 persimmon orchard sites in Kula, Hawaii. At each site, 10 trees were selected, 5 for treatment and 5 for control. Sprays were applied to bearing trees weekly during harvest to control MFF. Applications were made on 25 Oct; 1, 8, 15, and 22 Nov; 1 Dec.

Antioxidant activity of 4 cultivars of persimmon fruit
Food Science and Biotechnology, 2011In this study, the antioxidant activity of persimmon fruit of 4 different persimmon cultivars cultured at Korea was evaluated. There were 3 astringent persimmon cultivars [‘Bongok’ (BO), Japanese Hatchiya; ‘Cheongdobansi’ (CB); and ‘Dogeunjosaeng’ (DJ), Japanese Tonewase] a 1 non-astringent persimmon cultivar [‘Seochonjosaeng’ (SJ), Japanese ...

Mediterranean Fruit Fly Control on Persimmon, 1991
Insecticide and Acaricide Tests, 1993Abstract The study was conducted at a 50-yr-old persimmon orchard in Kula, Hawaii. Thirty trees were used; 15 for treatment and 15 for control. Sprays were applied to bearing trees prior to first harvest and continuing weekly throughout the harvest period to control MFF. Application dates were as follows: 18 and 25 Sep; 2, 9, 16, 23, and
