Asymmetric cross-sensitization to the locomotor stimulant effects of phencyclidine and MK-801, [PDF]

open access: yes, 1994
Chronic administration of a psychomotor stimulant has been shown to produce progressively enhanced effects, a phenomenon called "reverse tolerance" or sensitization.

Effects of phencyclidine treatment, nicotine history and the combined insults, on prepulse inhibition of adolescent mice.

open access: yes, 2021
CT: Control group (♀ = 12, ♂ = 16); NIC: Nicotine-exposed group (♀ = 14, ♂ = 14); PCP: Phencyclidine-treated group (♀ = 14, ♂ = 13); PCP-NIC: Phencyclidine-treated and nicotine-exposed group (♀ = 13, ♂ = 14). Values are means ± SEM. ##p vs. phencyclidine

Atypical Condensation Domains Guide Discovery and Illuminate Biosynthesis of Myxoglucamides Featuring Vinyl‐Substituted, α‐Oxidized γ‐Amino Acids

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
Genome mining of atypical condensation (C) domains leads to the discovery of myxoglucamides, glycolipopeptides featuring an unprecedented vinyl‐substituted, α‐oxidized γ‐amino acid. Biosynthetic studies reveal a discrete C‐domain‐like O‐acyltransferase, a β‐hydroxylation‐dependent chain‐extension checkpoint, and an unusual pathway for γ‐amino acid ...

Phencyclidine Disrupts the Auditory Steady State Response in Rats. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2015
The Auditory Steady-State Response (ASSR) in the electroencephalogram (EEG) is usually reduced in schizophrenia (SZ), particularly to 40 Hz stimulation.

Broad‐Spectrum, Cell Envelope‐Active Marinocyclin Antibiotics From a Coral‐Derived Bacterium Are Effective Against Colistin‐Resistant Bacteria

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
Marinocyclins, polycationic macrocyclic depsipeptides, were discovered by genome mining from the marine coral‐derived bacterium Aquimarina megaterium. The compounds have broad‐spectrum activity against gram‐positive and gram‐negative ESKAPE bacteria.

Profiles of VGF Peptides in the Rat Brain and Their Modulations after Phencyclidine Treatment

open access: yesFrontiers in Cellular Neuroscience, 2017
From the VGF precursor protein originate several low molecular weight peptides, whose distribution in the brain and blood circulation is not entirely known.

Delayed presentation of a firearm injury in a patient with recent use of phencyclidine: A case report

open access: yesTrauma Case Reports, 2020
The rapid delivery of care for penetrating traumatic injury, such as gunshot wounds, is essential to minimizing the morbidity and mortality rate. It is highly unusual for a patient who has sustained a firearm injury to present over 24 h after the event ...

Building a Framework for Sexual and Reproductive Health Care in the Rheumatology Context: Content and Approaches

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, EarlyView.
People with systemic autoimmune and rheumatic diseases (SARDs) are at higher risk than the general population of experiencing adverse pregnancy and perinatal outcomes such as preeclampsia, intrauterine growth restriction, and maternal and/or fetal death.

Global brain volume reductions in a subchronic phencyclidine animal model for schizophrenia and their relationship to recognition memory [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
Background: Cognitive deficits and structural brain changes co-occur in patients with schizophrenia. Improving our understanding of the relationship between these is important to develop improved therapeutic strategies. Back-translation of these findings

Suppression of Peierls Instability in a Metal−Halide Porous Framework

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
Peierls distortion in one‐dimensional Pt‐I chains is suppressed by confinement within the periodic electrostatic environment of a porous Cu–I framework. X‐ray crystallography shows equivalent Pt–I distances without bond alternation, and conductivity of the Pt‐I chains is greatly enhanced.
