Two tris(3,5-disubstituted phenyl)phosphines and their isostructural PV oxides
The crystal structures of tris(3,5-dimethylphenyl)phosphine (C24H27P), (I), tris(3,5-dimethylphenyl)phosphine oxide (C24H27OP), (II), tris(4-methoxy-3,5-dimethylphenyl)phosphine (C27H33O3P), (III), and tris(4-methoxy-3,5-dimethylphenyl)phosphine oxide ...

Synthesis and photophysical properties of novel benzophospholo[3,2-b]indole derivatives
The parent benzophospholo[3,2-b]indole was prepared by the reaction of dichlorophenylphosphine with a dilithium intermediate, which was prepared in two steps from 2-ethynyl-N,N-dimethylaniline.

Unusual phosphine oxidation: new triazolopyridyl-quinolyl phosphine oxide fluorescent dyes
3-(2-Pyridyl)-[1,2,3]triazolo[1,5-a]quinolylphosphines suffer an unusual phosphine oxidation due to their special geometry that allows a σ-donation of the nitrogen (N1) lone pair to phosphorus.

Biphenylic Bisphosphines through ortho-Metalation of Aryldiphenylphosphine Oxides
Diphenyl-(2-trifluoromethyl)phosphine oxide was metalated next to the diphenylphosphinoyl group with LITMP. Upon iodination and Ullmann coupling, the corresponding 3,3?-disubstituted bis(phosphine oxide) was obtained. When phenyllithium was used

Catalyst-free photooxidation of triarylphosphines under aerobic conditions
A new method for the photooxidation of triarylphosphines into the corresponding oxides is developed. In this new protocol, neither a catalyst nor an additive is required. The greenest oxidant, oxygen in air atmosphere, is used.

It was recently reported that a (2-hydroxybenzyl)phosphine oxide (2-HOBPO) can serve as a phosphorus-centered catalyst for the stereo-invertive coupling of aliphatic alcohols and acidic pronucleophiles (akin to a Mitsunobu reaction, but without ...

The unsymmetrical bidentate phosphine ligands (Me)2PCH2CH2CH2P(Et)2 (14), (Me)2PCH2CH2CH2P(iPr)2 (15), (Me)2PCH2CH2CH2P(Cy)2 (16), and (Me)2PCH2CH2CH2P(Ph)2 (17) were synthesized using air–stable phosphine oxide intermediates. In the first step, sodium phosphinites formed by deprotonation of (Me)2P(O)H, (Et)2P(O)H, and (iPr)2P(O)H were alkylated by 1 ...

Tailoring the Properties of Functional Materials With N‐Oxides
The properties of materials bearing N‐oxide groups are often dominated by the polar N+─O− bond. It provides hydrophilicity, selective ion‐binding, electric conductivity, or antifouling properties. Many of the underlying mechanisms have only recently been discovered, and the interest in N‐oxide materials is rapidly growing.

Interactions of phosphate, phosphine oxide and phosphoramide ligands with Th(IV)
The complexation behavior of phosphate, phosphine oxide, and phosphoramide ligands with Th(IV) is investigated at the Density Functional Theory (DFT) level.
