High‐Resolution Stereolithography of Amorphous, Dense and Mechanically Stable Bioactive Glass

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
Porous scaffolds made of bioactive glass are of great interest for bone tissue engineering. The geometry and resolution of the scaffold is impacting its bioactive and mechanical performance. Utilizing stereolithographic 3D printing of bioactive glass, human cancellous bone scaffolds, and other structures are fabricated with features as small as 77 µm ...

Phosphine Catalyzed Michael-Type Additions: The Synthesis of Glutamic Acid Derivatives from Arylidene-α-amino Esters

open access: yesMolecules
The reaction of arylidene-α-amino esters with electrophilic alkenes to yield Michael-type addition compounds is optimized using several phosphines as organocatalysts. The transformation is very complicated due to the generation of several final compounds,

Can low-valent silicon compounds be better transition metal ligands than phosphines and NHCs?

open access: yes, 2015
We investigated the potential application of experimentally characterized low-valent silicon compounds as transition metal ligands by computing the most important ligand properties, σ-donor and π-acceptor ability, ligand-to-metal charge transfer, and ...

TADF Host Engineering for Improved Pure Blue Matrix‐Free Hyperfluorescent OLEDs with Ultranarrow Emission

open access: yesAdvanced Optical Materials, EarlyView.
This work presents the development of efficient blue thermally activated delayed fluorescent (TADF) materials that perform well without doping, enabling simplified, matrix‐free hyperfluorescence (MFHF) OLEDs. When combined with encapsulated narrow‐band emitters, the TADF materials serve as effective hosts resulting in pure blue, ultranarrow emission ...

A Continuous-Wave EPR Investigation into the Photochemical Transformations of the Chromium(I) Carbonyl Complex [Cr(CO)4bis(diphenylphosphino)]+ and Reactivity with 1-hexene

open access: yesMolecules
Chromium complexes containing a bis(diphenylphosphino) ligand have attracted significant interest over many years due to their potential as active catalysts for ethylene oligomerisation when combined with suitable co-catalysts such as triethylaluminium ...

A New Class of Diarylethene Compounds that Exhibit Turn‐On Emission: From Aggregation‐Induced Emission to Anti‐Kasha Emission

open access: yesAdvanced Optical Materials, EarlyView.
A new class of diarylethene compounds containing backbone phosphine oxide groups are reported, exhibiting turn‐on aggregation‐induced emission. Side chain functionalization enabled emission color tunability and turn‐on anti‐Kasha emission. Abstract Diarylethenes (DAE) are a well‐known class of photochromic compounds with diverse applications ranging ...

In Situ Transformation of Electrum Nanoclusters Embedded in Polymer Matrices Exhibit Near‐Infrared Emission With Quantum Yield Exceeding 70%

open access: yesAdvanced Optical Materials, EarlyView.
The AuAgNCs@OSTE nanocomposite, fabricated using off‐stoichiometric thiol‐ene polymerization, incorporates Au23‐xAgx(SAdm)15 nanoclusters and OSTE monomer. After UV curing, it reaches a maximum PLQY of 73% at 740 nm after 20 h of UV curing. After 72 h UV curing, PLQY reaches 60% at 850 nm, with minimal reabsorption losses due to the higher Stokes shift.
