PFOA Exposure Elicits Quantitative Lipidomic Changes in the Pancreas in a Mouse Model of Pancreatic Cancer

open access: yesEnvironmental Toxicology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Pancreatic cancer is the fourth leading cause of cancer deaths in the US and predicted to rise to second by 2030. Several risk factors have been identified as potential contributors to pancreatic cancer development including lifestyle factors and long‐term exposure to occupational and environmental carcinogens.

Identification and Validation of Biomarkers in Chronic Rhinosinusitis With Nasal Polyps and Study of Their Associated Mechanisms

open access: yesWorld Journal of Otorhinolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Cell senescence (CS) and lipid metabolism (LM) disorders have been reported in chronic rhinosinusitis with nasal polyps (CRSwNP). However, the mechanism is still unclear. Methods Data were obtained from public databases; differential expression analysis and machine learning were performed to identify biomarkers and to understand the

Secretory Phospholipase A2 Receptor-Mediated Activation of Cytosolic Phospholipase A2 in Murine Bone Marrow-Derived Mast Cells [PDF]

open access: yesThe Journal of Immunology, 2000
Abstract The current study examined the signal transduction steps involved in the selective release of arachidonic acid (AA) induced by the addition of secretory phospholipase A2 (sPLA2) isotypes to bone marrow-derived mast cells (BMMC).

Activation of phospholipase A2 by cannabinoids Lack of correlation with CNS effects [PDF]

open access: yes, 1987
Cannabinoids Δ1-tetrahydrocannabinol, cannabinol, cannabidiol and cannabigerol have been shown to affect directly the activity of phospholipase A2 in a cell-free assay.

Sequence of Immunological Events During IgE‐Mediated Allergic Reactions to Food

open access: yesAllergy, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Food allergies (FA) represent a significant global health burden. Upon allergen re‐exposure, allergic patients exhibit a sequence of symptoms that vary in terms of affected organ systems, severity, time of onset and allergen reactivity thresholds.

Review Article: The Impact of the Gut Microbiome on Ulcerative Colitis Pharmacotherapy

open access: yesAlimentary Pharmacology &Therapeutics, EarlyView.
The gut microbiome modulates ulcerative colitis pharmacotherapy through microbial drug metabolism, immune regulation and altered drug bioavailability. Microbial composition influences response to aminosalicylates, corticosteroids, immunomodulators, biologics and small molecules, while microbiome‐targeted therapies show emerging promise.

IgG4-Related Disease Is Not Associated with Antibody to the Phospholipase A2 Receptor

open access: yesInternational Journal of Rheumatology, 2012
Patients with IgG4-related disease (IgG4-RD) share histopathological characteristics that are similar across affected organs. The finding of infiltration with IgG4+ plasma cells in the proper clinical and histopathological contexts connects a large number of clinical entities that were viewed previously as separate conditions.

Effect of Phospholipase Digestion and Lysophosphatidylcholine on Dopamine Receptor Binding [PDF]

open access: yes, 1984
[3H]Spiperone specific binding by microsomal membranes isolated from sheep caudate nucleus is decreased by trypsin and phospholipase A2 (Vipera russeli), but is insensitive to neuraminidase.

Biomarkers of atherosclerotic plaque vulnerability and their clinical significance

open access: yesChinese Journal of Contemporary Neurology and Neurosurgery, 2016
Inflammatory reaction plays a crucial role in the occurence and development of atherosclerosis. Both basic and clinical trials have provided evidence that the expression of inflammatory biomarkers are closely related with the degree of atherosclerosis.
