Novel protein–protein interactions between Entamoeba histolytica d-phosphoglycerate dehydrogenase and phosphoserine aminotransferase

Biochimie, 2012
Physical interactions between d-phosphoglycerate dehydrogenase (EhPGDH) and phosphoserine aminotransferase (EhPSAT) from an enteric human parasite Entamoeba histolytica was observed by pull-down assay, gel filtration chromatography, chemical cross-linking, emission anisotropy, molecular docking and molecular dynamic simulations.

Phosphoserine aminotransferase from Bacillus circulans subsp. alkalophilus: purification, gene cloning and sequencing

BBA - Proteins and Proteomics, 1996
Two peaks of aspartate aminotransferase (AspAT) catalytic activity were observed during DEAE chromatography of a protein extract from alkalophilic B. circulans. The enzyme purified from the major peak appeared to be not aspartate but phosphoserine aminotransferase (PSAT) with a considerably high AspAT side activity.

Structural basis ofL-phosphoserine binding toBacillus alcalophilusphosphoserine aminotransferase

Acta Crystallographica Section D Biological Crystallography, 2013
Phosphoserine aminotransferase is a vitamin B6-dependent enzyme that catalyzes the reversible conversion of 3-phosphohydroxypyruvate to L-phosphoserine using glutamate as an amine donor. In an effort to gain insight into the substrate-recognition mechanism of the enzyme, crystal structures of Bacillus alcalophilus phosphoserine aminotransferase in the ...

Downregulation of Phosphoserine aminotransferase 1 promotes tumorigenesis in Glioblastoma

The FASEB Journal, 2020
Glioblastoma (GBM) is a typical brain tumor with survival below ten percent at 5 years after diagnosis. The genetic alternation and histological features are integrated into the classification of gliomas for better clinical management of GBM.

Structure of phosphoserine aminotransferase fromMycobacterium tuberculosis

Acta Crystallographica Section D Biological Crystallography, 2012
Mycobacterium tuberculosis (Mtb), the causative agent of TB, remains a serious world health problem owing to limitations of the available drugs and the emergence of resistant strains. In this context, key biosynthetic enzymes from Mtb are attractive targets for the development of new therapeutic drugs.

Phosphoserine aminotransferase deficiency: imaging findings in a child with congenital microcephaly

The Journal of Maternal-Fetal & Neonatal Medicine, 2018
Serine deficiency disorders can result from deficiency in one of three enzymes. Deficiency of the second enzyme, 3-phosphoserine aminotransferase (PSAT), has been reported in two siblings; the eldest investigated for acquired microcephaly, spasticity and epilepsy. Our patient had neurological symptoms at birth. Fetal magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) at

Serine metabolism in legume nodules: Purification and properties of phosphoserine aminotransferase

Physiologia Plantarum, 1988
Enzymes involved in serine metabolism were compared in the plant cytosol fraction of root nodules from soybean [Glycine max (L.) Merr., cv. Amsoy] and lupin [Lupinus angustifolius L., cv. Uniharvest]. Soybean nodules are ureide exporters and have a serine requirement in the synthesis of these compounds, whereas lupin nodules are amide transporters and ...

Aspartate Aminotransferase from a Thermophilic Formate-Utilizing Methanogen, Methanobacterium thermoformicicum Strain SF-4: Relation to Serine and Phosphoserine Aminotransferases, but Not to the Aspartate Aminotransferase Family

The Journal of Biochemistry, 1994
The primary structure of the aspartate aminotransferase (AspAT) of an archaebacterium, Methanobacterium thermoformicicum strain SF-4, has been determined by cloning and sequencing of the gene for the enzyme. The gene had a consensus promoter and a ribosome binding sequence of methanogens in the 5' untranslated region, followed by an open reading frame ...

Crystallographic and Solution Studies on Phosphoserine Aminotransferase (PSAT) from E.coli

1987
Phosphoserine aminotransferase from E.coli has been crystallized in space group P212121, with one ∝2 dimeric molecule per asymmetric unit. Single crystal microspectrophotometric measurements have shown that the enzyme is catalytically active in the crystal.

Association of DNA Methylation of Phosphoserine Aminotransferase with Response to Endocrine Therapy in Patients with Recurrent Breast Cancer

Cancer Research, 2005
Abstract To understand the biological basis of resistance to endocrine therapy is of utmost importance in patients with steroid hormone receptor–positive breast cancer. Not only will this allow us prediction of therapy success, it may also lead to novel therapies for patients resistant to current endocrine therapy.
