Pickering emulsion-based molecular imprinting [PDF]
Due to the specific recognition ability of the target molecules, molecularly imprinted polymers (MIPs) have been widely used in many fields. So far, the research in molecular imprinting mainly focused on two aspects: (1) synthesis of MIPs with more functions; (2) expanding applications of the traditional MIPs, especially for MIPs synthesized by ...

This work presents a versatile strategy for asymmetrically decorating MoS2 flakes using SiO2 microspheres as masking templates. The Janus MoS2 exhibits a 1.9‐fold enhancement in photoluminescence (PL) due to the incorporation of Au nanoparticles (NPs), primarily dominated by B exciton emission, which is attributed to defect‐rich structures.

Coalescence of Pickering emulsion droplets induced by an electric field
Combining high-speed photography with electric current measurement, we investigate the electrocoalescence of Pickering emulsion droplets. Under high enough electric field, the originally-stable droplets coalesce via two distinct approaches: normal ...

The hidden science of haptics: A pedagogical review of tactile evaluation in cosmetics
This review explores the physiological basis of tactile perception and critically examines classical and emerging sensory methods used in cosmetics, advocating for broader methodological integration and recognition of sensory analysis in the field. Abstract Sensory analysis is a cornerstone of cosmetic development, yet remains underrepresented in peer ...

Preparation of double emulsions using hybrid polymer/silica particles: New pickering emulsifiers with adjustable surface wettability [PDF]
A facile route for the preparation of water-in-oil-in-water (w/o/w) double emulsions is described for three model oils, namely, n-dodecane, isopropyl myristate, and isononyl isononanoate, using fumed silica particles coated with poly(ethylene imine) (PEI)

Biodegradable cassava starch films were developed incorporating micro‐ and nanoencapsulated pomegranate seed oil (PSO). The films exhibited enhanced mechanical flexibility, antioxidant activity and UV‐barrier properties. Particle size influenced the functional behaviour, highlighting lipid encapsulation as a key strategy to stabilize bioactive ...

Stimuli-responsive behavior of PNiPAm microgels under interfacial confinement [PDF]
The volume phase transition of microgels is one of the most paradigmatic examples of stimuli-responsiveness, enabling a collapse from a highly swollen microgel state into a densely coiled state by an external stimulus. Although well characterized in bulk,
