Multiobjective Codesign Optimization of a Planar Pneumatic Artificial Muscle‐Based Snake‐Like Robot for Enhanced Agility and Energy Efficiency

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
A codesign multiobjective optimization framework was developed to enhance the morphology and controller of a snake‐like robot driven by artificial muscles. It improved planar locomotion, agility, and power efficiency. The approach optimized link geometry and controller gains, revealing that shorter muscles near joints and longer linkages maximize ...

Design of robust PID controllers [PDF]

open access: yes2001 European Control Conference (ECC), 2001
The family of characteristic polynomials of a SISO-PID loop with N representative plant operating conditions is P i = Ai(s)(K I ; + Kps + K D s2) + B i (s), i = 1,2…N. A basic task of robust control design is to find the set of all parameters K I , K P , K D , that simultaneously place the roots of all P i (a) into a specified region Γ in the complex ...

Wavelet PID and Wavenet PID: Theory and Applications

open access: yes, 2012
We introduce in this chapter a new area in PID controllers, which is called multiresolution PID (MRPID). Basically, a MRPID controller uses wavelet theory for the decomposition of the tracking error signal. We present a general error function in terms of partial errors which gives us the various frequencies appearing in the general errors.
