Range of protein induced by vitamin K absence or antagonist-II levels in neonates at birth
Protein induced by vitamin K absence or antagonist-II (PIVKA-II) is avitamin K (VK) deficiency indicator in neonates. However, PIVKA-II detection frequency in neonatal blood at birth and the correlation between PIVKA-II and gestational age are unclear ...

ABSTRACT This study developed a non‐invasive model using PIVKA‐II and MRI features to predict microvascular invasion in hepatocellular carcinoma, providing a reliable tool for early risk assessment and personalized treatment planning. The study included 98 patients with pathologically confirmed HCC (Child‐Pugh A, BCLC stage A), comprising 43 MVI ...

PIVKA‑II is associated with liver function, bone metabolism, and muscle function in patients with liver disease. [PDF]
Protein induced by vitamin K (VK) absence‑II (PIVKA‑II) is a sensitive marker for diagnosing hepatoma but is occasionally detected in patients without hepatoma Here, the clinical significance of serum PIVKA‑II levels in patients who were not administered

2D nanosheets, with large surface area, excellent optical/electrical properties, and high specificity, combine with lateral flow assay strips to enable rapid, readable detection, boosting the strips’ development and applications. Abstract Lateral flow assays (LFAs) are widely used for point‐of‐care diagnostics, but their detection capability remains ...

Abstract Replicated pairs of ancestral and evolutionarily derived populations provide opportunities to test hypotheses about the deterministic laws of evolution. The Asellus aquaticus species complex is an invertebrate model system with several independent surface‐to‐cave transitions and a complicated and unresolved evolutionary history.

Diagnostic value of PIVKA-II in detecting hepatocellular carcinoma
Aim: Evaluation of prothrombin induced by vitamin K absence-II (PIVKA-II) in detecting hepatitis B virus-associated hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). Materials & methods: PIVKA-II and AFP levels were measured in 366 Chinese subjects (176 HCC, 98 liver

A Novel Diagnostic Approach for Hepatocellular Carcinoma Using Glycosylated Ferritin
The percentage of glycosylated ferritin relative to total ferritin (%GF) is a novel biomarker for hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), showing diagnostic performance comparable to that of AFP and DCP. We developed the GFAD index by integrating age, sex, %GF, AFP, and DCP, achieving improved diagnostic accuracy with high sensitivity and specificity. ABSTRACT

Among patients with CP‐A HCC initially within the Japan criteria, some lose oncological eligibility for LT before hepatic decompensation. Further studies are needed to identify baseline factors associated with poor outcomes and to evaluate their relevance to future LT candidacy.

ABSTRACT Objectives Various drainage methods have been used for unresectable malignant hilar biliary obstruction (MHBO). However, controlling cholangitis and obstructive jaundice is still challenging. We performed a phase I/II study of endoscopic ultrasound‐guided hepaticogastrostomy (EUS‐HGS) as primary drainage for MHBO.
