Adhesive and degradative properties of human placental cytotrophoblast cells in vitro. [PDF]
Human fetal development depends on the embryo rapidly gaining access to the maternal circulation. The trophoblast cells that form the fetal portion of the human placenta have solved this problem by transiently exhibiting certain tumor-like properties ...

HSP70 governs permeability and mechanotransduction in primary human endothelial cells
HSP70 chemical inhibition reduces endothelial cell proliferation and increases permeability, the latter supported by normal interendothelial junctional protein distribution. HSP70 also plays a role in shear stress response, a hemodynamic force naturally present in blood vessels and correlated with vessel protection.

Accelerated activation of the human plasminogen zymogen (hPg) to two-chain active plasmin (hPm) is achieved following conformational changes induced by ligand-binding at the lysine-binding sites (LBSs) in four of the five hPg kringle domains.

Fibrinolysis protease receptors promote activation of astrocytes to express pro-inflammatory cytokines. [PDF]
BACKGROUND:Astrocytes contribute to the crosstalk that generates chronic neuro-inflammation in neurological diseases; however, compared with microglia, astrocytes respond to a more limited continuum of innate immune system stimulants.

Thrombolytic proteins profiling: High‐throughput activity, selectivity, and resistance assays
We present optimized biochemical protocols for evaluating thrombolytic proteins, enabling rapid and robust screening of enzymatic activity, inhibition resistance, and fibrin affinity, stimulation, and selectivity. The outcome translates to key clinical indicators such as biological half‐life and bleeding risk. These assays streamline the development of

Mechanical Stability and Fibrinolytic Resistance of Clots Containing Fibrin, DNA, and Histones [PDF]
Neutrophil extracellular traps are networks of DNA and associated proteins produced by nucleosome release from activated neutrophils in response to infection stimuli and have recently been identified as key mediators between innate immunity, inflammation,

Role of Plasminogen Activator Inhibitor Type 1 in Pathologies of Female Reproductive Diseases
Normal pregnancy is a state of hypercoagulability with diminishing fibrinolytic activity, which is mainly caused by an increase of plasminogen activator inhibitor type 1 (PAI-1).
