PLASMINOGEN ACTIVATOR OF YERSINIA PESTIS

open access: yesИнфекция и иммунитет, 2015
Plague has been the cause of three pandemics and has led to the death of millions of people. Plague is a typical zoonosis caused by Yersinia pestis that circulates in populations of wild rodents inhabiting natural plague foci on all continents except for

Identification of a novel regulatory mechanism for the disease associated protein, uPAR [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
Expression quantitative trait loci (eQTLs), as determined through a series of statistical association studies collectively known as genome-wide association (GWA) studies, have provided us with a hypothesis free approach for the investigation into ...

Differential Regulation of PAI-1 in Hantavirus Cardiopulmonary Syndrome and Hemorrhagic Fever With Renal Syndrome [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
We analyzed the levels of circulating tissue plasminogen activator (tPA) and plasminogen activator inhibitor (PAI)-1 in acute hantavirus cardiopulmonary syndrome (HCPS) and hemorrhagic fever with renal syndrome (HFRS).

PLAUR+ Neutrophils Drive Anti‐PD‐1 Therapy Resistance in Patients with Hepatocellular Carcinoma by Shaping an Immunosuppressive Microenvironment

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The present study reveals that PLAUR+ neutrophils are enriched in immunotherapy non‐responders and correlate with poor prognosis. PLAUR+ neutrophils dictate immunotherapy resistance in hepatocellular carcinoma by forming an immunosuppressive tumor microenvironment characterized by CD8+ T cell exclusion and macrophage‐dependent immune suppression.

Evaluation of coagulation activation after Rhinovirus infection in patients with asthma and healthy control subjects: an observational study [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
Background Asthma exacerbations are frequently triggered by rhinovirus infections. Both asthma and respiratory tract infection can activate haemostasis. Therefore we hypothesized that experimental rhinovirus-16 infection and asthmatic airway inflammation

Lingual Haematoma due to Tenecteplase in a Patient with Acute Myocardial Infarction

open access: yesCase Reports in Otolaryngology, 2013
The use of intravenous thrombolytic agents has revolutionised the treatment of acute myocardial infarction. However, the improvement in mortality rate achieved with these drugs is tempered by the risk of serious bleeding complications, including ...

Origin and diversification of the plasminogen activation system among chordates

open access: yesBMC Evolutionary Biology, 2019
Background The plasminogen (PLG) activation system is composed by a series of serine proteases, inhibitors and several binding proteins, which together control the temporal and spatial generation of the active serine protease plasmin. As this proteolytic

SerpinB2 regulates stromal remodelling and local invasion in pancreatic cancer [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Pancreatic cancer has a devastating prognosis, with an overall 5-year survival rate of ~8%, restricted treatment options and characteristic molecular heterogeneity.

Cancer Cell‐Derived Large Extracellular Vesicles Promote Venous Thromboembolism by Activating NETosis Through Delivering CYBA

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Venous thromboembolism (VTE) is a major threat to cancer patients. Cancer‐derived large extracellular vesicles deliver CYBA (p22phox) to neutrophils, triggering reactive oxygen species (ROS) and citrullinated histone H3 (citH3) formation. This drives neutrophil extracellular traps formation (NETosis), elevating VTE risk.

Soluble urokinase plasminogen activator receptor and cardiotoxicity in doxorubicin-treated breast cancer patients: a prospective exploratory study

open access: yesCardio-Oncology
Background Soluble urokinase plasminogen activator receptor is an inflammatory biomarker that may prognosticate cardiovascular outcomes. We sought to determine the associations between soluble urokinase plasminogen activator receptor and established ...
