Tailored highly transparent porous silica coatings for enhanced optical and mechanical performance of solar covers

open access: yesMaterials & Design
Sol-gel porous silica-based anti-reflective coatings (AR) represent a key solution to minimize reflectance losses and improve solar systems efficiency. However extreme climatic conditions compromise the long-term durability of the coatings.

Targeted H2S Delivery System Attenuates Blood‐Spinal Cord Barrier Disruption after Spinal Cord Injury by Reshaping the Ferritinophagy Pathway

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The αvβ3‐mediated SPRC@MPDA‐RGD targets broken endothelial cells and controllably releases SPRC. CSE is then activated to produce endogenous H2S, which inhibits ferritinophagy. In brief, H2S inhibits autophagy by activating the PI3K/Akt/mTOR pathway, thereby suppressing the ferroptosis process mediated by NCOA4, and ultimately promoting the ...

Tough interpenetrating Pluronic F127/polyacrylic acid hydrogels

open access: yesPolymer, 2013
Abstract Tough interpenetrating polymer network (IPN) hydrogels with pH- and temperature sensitivity were prepared by crosslinking copolymerization of acrylic acid (AAc) and N,N′-methylenebis(acrylamide) in 20 w/v% aqueous solutions of F127 (PEO 99 -PPO 65 -PEO 99 ).

Tetrastigma Hemsleyanum Polysaccharide Suppresses Triple‐Negative Breast Cancer by Disrupting the Hippo‐YAP/TEAD4‐PDIA4 Axis and Endoplasmic Reticulum Stress Adaptation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Triple‐negative breast cancer (TNBC) exhibits addiction to chronic endoplasmic reticulum (ER) stress, which sustains an aggressive metastatic phenotype through activation of the unfolded protein response (UPR). Here, we identify a previously unrecognized “ER‐stress addiction” axis in which the Hippo pathway effector TEAD4 directly ...

Large-scale imaging of brain network activity from >10,000 neocortical cells [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
Large-scale recording from populations of neurons is a promising strategy in the study of complex brain function. Here we introduce a simple optical technique that simultaneously probes the calcium activity of ~10,000 cells at the single cell resolution ...

Profiling Localized Immunomodulation and Drug Biodistribution within a Subcutaneous Vascularized Niche for Cell Transplantation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
We studied how five common immunosuppressants behave when delivered directly to a transplant site instead of systemically. Using a vascularized implant for islet transplantation, we show that local delivery protects grafts, limits drug spread to the rest of the body, and produces distinct immune signatures.

Recent Advances in Laser‐Induced Graphene‐Based Gas Sensors: From Sensing Mechanisms to Biomedical Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Laser‐induced graphene (LIG) provides a scalable, laser‐direct‐written route to porous graphene architecture with tunable chemistry and defect density. Through heterojunction engineering, catalytic functionalization, and intrinsic self‐heating, LIG achieves highly sensitive and selective detection of NOX, NH3, H2, and humidity, supporting next ...
