Genome-wide profiling reveals alternative polyadenylation of mRNA in human non-small cell lung cancer

open access: yesJournal of Translational Medicine, 2019
Background Lung cancer is the second most common cancer with an extremely poor overall survival rate. Post-transcriptional regulation of gene expression play many important roles in human cancer, and one of the potential mechanisms underlying this is ...

Poliovirus-specific primer-dependent RNA polymerase able to copy poly(A) [PDF]

open access: yes, 1977
A template-dependent RNA polymerase has been isolated from poliovirus-infected cells by assaying for the ability of the enzyme to copy poly(A) complexed to an oligo(U) primer.

A new yeast poly(A) polymerase complex involved in RNA quality control [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
Eukaryotic cells contain several unconventional poly(A) polymerases in addition to the canonical enzymes responsible for the synthesis of poly(A) tails of nuclear messenger RNA precursors.

Therapeutic strategies for MMAE‐resistant bladder cancer through DPP4 inhibition

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We established monomethyl auristatin E (MMAE)‐resistant bladder cancer (BC) cell lines by exposure to progressively increasing concentrations of MMAE in vitro. RNA sequencing showed DPP4 expression was increased in MMAE‐resistant BC cells. Both si‐DPP4 and the DPP4 inhibitor sitagliptin suppressed the viability of MMAE‐resistant BC cells.

Biochemical and in silico identification of the active site and the catalytic mechanism of the circadian deadenylase HESPERIN

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, 2022
The 24‐h molecular clock is based on the stability of rhythmically expressed transcripts. The shortening of the poly(A) tail of mRNAs is often the first and rate‐limiting step that determines the lifespan of a mRNA and is catalyzed by deadenylases ...

A Strategy for the Design of Flame Retardants: Cross-linking Processes [PDF]

open access: yes, 1989
Cross-linking is identified as an effective means for flame retardation of polymers and schemes for the cross-linking of poly(ethylene terephthalate) and poly(methyl methacrylate) are presented.

Micellar dye shuttle between water and an ionic liquid [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
The reversible transfer of poly(2-ethyl-2-oxazoline)-block-poly(2-nonyl-2-oxazoline) nanocarriers comprising encapsulated dyes is demonstrated between water and an ionic liquid. This dye transfer concept is shown to be applicable for loading and delivery

Phenotypic and genotypic characterization of single circulating tumor cells in the follow‐up of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Single circulating tumor cells (sCTCs) from high‐grade serous ovarian cancer patients were enriched, imaged, and genomically profiled using WGA and NGS at different time points during treatment. sCTCs revealed enrichment of alterations in Chromosomes 2, 7, and 12 as well as persistent or emerging oncogenic CNAs, supporting sCTC identity.

Brief Announcement: Almost-Tight Approximation Distributed Algorithm for Minimum Cut [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
In this short paper, we present an improved algorithm for approximating the minimum cut on distributed (CONGEST) networks. Let $\lambda$ be the minimum cut.

TRAIL‐PEG‐Apt‐PLGA nanosystem as an aptamer‐targeted drug delivery system potential for triple‐negative breast cancer therapy using in vivo mouse model

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Aptamers are used both therapeutically and as targeting agents in cancer treatment. We developed an aptamer‐targeted PLGA–TRAIL nanosystem that exhibited superior therapeutic efficacy in NOD/SCID breast cancer models. This nanosystem represents a novel biotechnological drug candidate for suppressing resistance development in breast cancer.
