Shotgun metagenomics and culture‐based isolate genomics revealed position‐associated high‐risk antibiotic resistance genes (ARGs) signals across poultry manure piles and surrounding soils. Culture‐confirmed Enterobacteriaceae and IncHI2A‐related blaNDM‐5 plasmid backgrounds further highlight priority host‐ARG‐plasmid contexts for farm antimicrobial ...

Investigation of plasma protein binding and nephrotoxicity of polymyxins
The use of the polymyxin antibiotics (colistin [polymyxin E] and polymyxin B) declined soon after their approval in the 1950s due to the high incidence of nephrotoxicity and neurotoxicity, and the availability of ‘less toxic’ therapeutic options that had

Abstract Background This study evaluated the antimicrobial activity of thyme essential oil (TEO) encapsulated in electrospun zein fibers for use in bilayer films as active packaging for cherry tomatoes. The antimicrobial activity of TEO and bilayer films with 20%, 40%, and 60% TEO was assessed with agar diffusion and microatmosphere assays.

Polymyxins -a review focusing on their nePhrotoxicity
Polymyxins are polypeptide antibiotics with strong action against Gram-negative bacteria. Their use was almost halted between 1970 and 1980 with the advent of less toxic compounds.

ISAba1‐mediated crp‐osmC amplification enhances host‐associated fitness in Acinetobacter baumannii
Abstract Acinetobacter baumannii is a pathogen, highly adaptable to both hospital‐ and host‐associated environments. Understanding the genetic mechanisms underlying its adaptability is critical for controlling its persistence. Our study identified the crp‐osmC gene cluster, flanked by ISAba1 elements, as a significant genetic structure undergoing ...

Through network pharmacology and molecular docking, it has been discovered that CA can target MAOB, among other proteins, to exert a therapeutic effect in IBS. In vivo, CA lowered visceral hypersensitivity, anxiety and depression‐like behaviors, and fecal water content, highlighting its therapeutic potential for IBS via anti‐inflammatory pathways ...
