The effect of the composition of polysorbate 80 grades on their physicochemical properties [PDF]
Polysorbate 80 is one of the most commonly used surfactants in the formulation of biotherapeutics, particularly those administered intravenously. It comprises a mixture of fatty acids but is not a precisely defined chemical entity.

A highly sensitive method has been developed for the quantitation of polysorbate 20 (PS20) and 80 (PS80) in therapeutic peptide formulations. A mixed-mode HPLC column was used to separate polysorbates from the peptide and other excipients, and a charged ...

Quinoa protein hydrolysate (QpH) serves as both a nitrogen source and a functional ingredient for L. plantarum. Bacteria grown in QpH achieved high biomass production and demonstrated significantly enhanced cell membrane integrity, positioning QpH as a key component for robust, plant‐based probiotics.

Induction of IL‐9‐producing CD8+ T cells by ascochlorin derivatives
A newly synthesised ascochlorin derivative, N184, induces small amounts of IL‐9‐producing CD8+ T cells. N184 improved the survival of CD8+ T cells and enhanced their antitumour activity, partially in an IL‐9‐dependent manner. The antitumour effect was completely dependent on IFNγ secretion rather than the cytotoxic activity of CD8+ T cells.

Nonionic surfactants increase digoxin absorption in Caco-2 and MDCKII MDR1 cells: Impact on P-glycoprotein inhibition, barrier function, and repeated cellular exposure [PDF]
Nonionic surfactants commonly used in pharmaceutical formulations may have P-glycoprotein (P-gp) inhibiting and/or permeation enhancing effects. The present work aims to distinguish these effects and assess the degree of cellular recovery after multiple ...

Heterocoagulation of Inorganic Pigments for Solvent‐Based Recycling of Polystyrene
Heterocoagulation is demonstrated as an effective strategy for removing inorganic pigments from polymer solutions in solvent‐based recycling. High turbidity reductions are achieved using selected heterocoagulants, even in the presence of dissolved polymer.

Anaphylaxis and the inclusion of polysorbates in biotherapeutics
Both unwanted immunogenicity and anaphylaxis comprise major components of safety assessment, however, few if any attempts are made to differentiate drug-related from excipient-related anaphylaxis.

The role of dispersants on hydrocarbon phase behavior in seawater is an important problem that influences marine environment ecology. Offshore petroleum and natural gas catastrophes, such as the Deepwater Horizon spill of 2010, motive the need to ...
