Determination of thiocyanate by potassium bromate
Fresenius' Zeitschrift f�r Analytische Chemie, 1957Estimation of thiocyanate, based on its titration with standard KBrO3 solution in presence of 1.5–3.0 N hydrochloric acid, is described. The end point is determined either potentiometrically or with methyl orange as indicator.

Applications involving oxidation with potassium bromate
Microchemical Journal, 1981Abstract A rapid and reliable determination of chromium was developed based on bromate oxidation of chromium(III) to chromium(VI). The reaction is complete under weakly acidic conditions and with cobalt(II) present as a catalyst. Unreacted bromate and chromium(VI) are then reduced with sulfite to bromide and chromium(III).

[A case of acute potassium bromate intoxication].
Fukuoka igaku zasshi = Hukuoka acta medica, 1990We experienced a case of a 44 year old man who had ingested potassium bromate solution for suicide attempt. Soon after the ingestion, nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain and diarrhea developed in him. Several hours later, he began to complain of auditory disturbance and, in addition, anuric acute renal failure occurred.
