Abstract Background Managing open wounds in birds is challenging. This study compared leukocyte‐ and thrombocyte‐rich fibrin (L‐TRF) and autologous grafts for treating wounds in the tarsometatarsus of chickens. Methods Full‐thickness wounds were experimentally induced in the tarsometatarsus of 23 healthy adult chickens.

This study tests whether early‐life maternal association buffers offspring from the effects of prenatal stress in a facultatively social lizard. Despite clear effects of maternal glucocorticoids on growth and social behaviour, social associations did not mitigate these effects, revealing limits to social buffering in this species.

This article explores the activities of daily life in a village neighbouring the TEPCO nuclear power plant in Fukushima. It argues that one of the potentials of taking a dwelling perspective – a phenomenological approach to living within the ecological and social environments – emerges most compellingly within a polluted landscape.
