Enhancing Cold Adaptation of Bidomain Amylases by High‐Throughput Computational Engineering
Cold‐adapted bidomain enzymes have the potential to foster industrial sustainability by reducing energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions. Despite their allure, these benefits are unattainable as the molecular basis of cold adaptation remains elusive and there are no strategies to guide the acquisition of this behavior.

New insights on prebiotic chemistry from plasma kinetics [PDF]
The famous Miller-Urey experiment, which provides essential information on the prebiotic synthesis of the molecules of life, still has many obscure points. In this paper, we want to suggest a way of possible future progress, which consists in framing the experience of Miller and Urey in the context of the kinetics of ionized gas, or plasma.

Dietary supplement of sodium butyrate, may relate to regulating intestinal health and thus the growth performance and meat quality of rabbits by regulating the continuous process of promoting the periodic cycle of cecal epithelial cells. Abstract Supplementation of sodium butyrate (SB) has been proved to be beneficial for improving the growth ...

α‐Galacto‐oligosaccharides (α‐GOSs) are natural oligomeric saccharides found in plants that have garnered significant interest due to their indigestible nature and various biological activities. However, they often exist as inseparable mixtures, particularly long‐chain substances.

In the nascent processes of the beginnings and evolution of life, nucleobases and especially purines, ribonucleos(t)ides and primitive RNAs have been continuously modified. A RNA‐peptide world and key metabolic pathways probably have emerged from the corresponding chemical modifications resulting from adenine deamination, purine alkylation and ...

ABSTRACT Background and Objectives In many countries, the Codex Alimentarius definition of dietary fiber has been adopted with the optional inclusion of oligosaccharides with a degree of polymerization (dp) of ≥ 3. These oligosaccharides are usually captured as low molecular weight soluble dietary fiber (LMWSDF). The suitability of the AOAC‐method 2017.

Short amyloidogenic oligopeptides (APRs) are proposed as early macromolecules capable of forming solvent‐separated nanosystems under prebiotic conditions. This study provides experimental evidence that APRs, such as the aggregation‐prone oligopeptide A (APR‐A), can undergo mutational transitions to form distinct variants, and convert to APR‐B, either ...
