Immunolocalization of progesterone receptors in binucleate trophoblast cells of the buffalo placenta (Bubalus bubalis) [PDF]

open access: yesBiotemas, 2007
The binucleate trophoblast cells (CTBs) of the water buffalo placenta (Bubalus bubalis) were studied with emphasis on the presence of progesterone receptor.

GSK3β‐Regulated Lipolysis is Required for Histone Acetylation and Decidualization in Early Pregnancy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Uterine Gsk3b knockout impairs decidual cell terminal differentiation by causing lipid droplet accumulation. GSK3β phosphorylates RNF213 to promote its lysosomal degradation, thereby enhancing lipolysis. The released fatty acids undergo β‐oxidation to generate acetyl‐CoA, which modulates histone acetylation and regulates decidual cell terminal ...

The Pivotal Role of GR‐CAR Pathway in Fetal Programming of Hepatic Cytochrome P450 3A Alteration in Adulthood

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Prenatal dexamethasone exposure (PDE) persistently upregulates hepatic CYP3A1/CYP2B1 in offspring via glucocorticoid receptor (GR) activation. In vivo and in vitro studies show GR promotes P300/CBP binding to the constitutive androstane receptor (CAR) promoter, sustaining histone acetylation (H3K9/K27ac) and enhancing CYP expression. The GR–CAR pathway

Overexpression of Androgen, Oestrogen and Progesterone Receptors in Skin Lesions of Becker’s Naevus

open access: yesActa Dermato-Venereologica, 2018
Becker’s naevus is androgen-dependent. The aim of this study was to investigate whether oestrogen and progesterone receptors are involved in this disorder.

Triple‐Negative Breast Cancer Cells Resist Natural Killer Cell‐Mediated Killing Through Interleukin‐11 Trans‐Signaling

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Triple‐negative breast cancer cells express high levels of interleukin‐11 (IL‐11) that can form complexes with soluble IL‐11 receptor (sIL‐11R). These complexes can bind to gp130 on the membrane of natural killer (NK) cells through trans‐signaling to activate JAK1/STAT1/3/p21 downstream pathway.

Molecular evidence of functional progesterone withdrawal in human myometrium

open access: yesNature Communications, 2016
How human labour is initiated in the presence of high circulating progesterone is still unclear. Here, the authors show that during a reduction in myometrial nuclear progesterone levels, there is an increased transcription of the key labour gene, Cx43 ...

Disruption of ovarian function and induction of apoptosis in female mice by Brefeldin A: Mechanistic insights into reproductive toxicity

open access: yesAnimal Models and Experimental Medicine, EarlyView.
Brefeldin A (BFA) significantly inhibits oocyte release and induces apoptosis in ovarian granulosa cells by disrupting follicular development. It downregulates proliferation‐associated genes, reduces SIRT1/SIRT6 proteins, and upregulates cell cycle inhibitors P21 and P16. Additionally, BFA impairs estrogen synthesis and affects ovarian function through

Noninvasive Detection and Thermal Ablation Therapy of Endometriosis Using Silica‐Coated Gold Nanorods

open access: yesAdvanced NanoBiomed Research, EarlyView.
AuNR@Si(F)‐PEG nanoparticles are developed as theranostic agents for the noninvasive detection and photothermal therapy of endometriosis. The particles are preferentially taken up by the endometriosis lesions under photoacoustic image‐guidance, and used as thermal ablation therapeutics to shrink the lesions.
