Protein tyrosine phosphatase 1 protects human pancreatic cancer from erastin-induced ferroptosis
Background: Pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC) is a fatal malignancy due to the lack of early detection method, therapeutic drug and target. We noticed that the expression of Protein Tyrosine Phosphatase Mitochondria1(PTPMT1) is upregulated in PDAC.

MAPK phosphatase-1 represents a novel antiinflammatory target of glucocorticoids in the human endothelium [PDF]
Glucocorticoids are well-established anti- inflammatory drugs thought to mainly act by inhibition of proinflammatory transcription factors like NF-κB.

The function of the protein phosphatase Glc7p in transcription termination, RNA processing and transcriptional regulation of ribosomal protein genes [PDF]
Gene transcription in general can be subdivided into three main phases: transcription initiation, elongation and termination. The enzyme that accomplishes transcription of protein coding genes, snRNAs and snoRNAs is RNA polymerase II (RNAP II).

The serine-threonine protein phosphatases that regulate the thiazide-sensitive NaCl cotransporter
The activity of the Na+-Cl- cotransporter (NCC) in the distal convoluted tubule (DCT) is finely tuned by phosphorylation networks involving serine/threonine kinases and phosphatases.

Protein Phosphatase 1 δ is Associated with Focal Adhesions [PDF]
In all mammalian cells protein phosphatase-1 (PP1) exists in three isoforms, defined as alpha, gamma 1 and delta. Immunofluorescence studies with isoform-specific antibodies indicated that delta, but not alpha or gamma 1, is enriched at focal adhesions in HeLa cells, fibroblasts, endothelial cells and keratinocytes.

Over-expression of MAP kinase phosphatase-2 enhances adhesion molecule expression and protects against apoptosis in human endothelial cells [PDF]
In this study we used adenovirus infection to overexpress the dual specific phosphatase, MAP kinase phosphatase-2 (MKP-2), in human umbilical vein endothelial cells and examined inflammatory protein expression and apoptosis, two key features of ...
