Serglycin (SRGN) is a pro-tumorigenic proteoglycan expressed and secreted by various aggressive tumors including glioblastoma (GBM). In our study, we investigated the interplay and biological outcomes of SRGN with TGFβRI, CXCR-2 and inflammatory ...

The interactions of ‘non-aggregating’ proteoglycans
SummaryThe small proteoglycans decorin, biglycan and fibromodulin were prepared as a mixture from bovine nasal cartilage. The proteoglycans in this mixture were shown to interact with hyaluronate immobilized on Sepharose beads under isotonic conditions ...

Inhibition of KDELR2 in a small fraction of tumor cells generates sustainable immunogenic cell death conditions within the tumor microenvironment. These conditions promote the regression of tumors in a T cell independent manner. During regression, macrophages prime T cells that subsequently provide systemic protection against recurrence. The potency of

THBS1+ Macrophages Exacerbate Modic Changes via SDC4‐Dependent Activation of NLRP3 Inflammasome
The illustration of THBS1+ macrophages exacerbate MCs via SDC4‐dependent activation of the NLRP3 inflammasome. THBS1+ macrophage subpopulation was identified in MCs through single‐cell RNA sequencing. C. acnes and its metabolites activate THBS1 expression in macrophages via the TLR signaling pathway.

Heparan sulfate proteoglycans (HSPGs) play critical roles in the development and adult physiology of all metazoan organisms. Most of the known molecular interactions of HSPGs are attributed to the structurally highly complex heparan sulfate (HS) glycans.

The study employed a four‐tiered strategy: (1) UHPLC‐FTMS profiling of Citrus aurantium honey to characterize its chemical composition; (2) network pharmacology analysis integrating target prediction, protein–protein interaction networks, and KEGG pathway enrichment to identify the Thor1/Nprl2‐TORC1 axis as a key mechanistic pathway; (3) in vitro ...
