Progress in Pyrazole Chemistry
1966Publisher Summary This chapter discusses the use of pyrazole as antioxidants in motor fuels, medicine, and development of cine-film. Besides the traditional interest in pyrazole derivatives which have been the basis of numerous dyes and drugs, a number of pyrazole anesthetics have appeared.

Thermal rearrangements of 3H-pyrazoles, 4H-pyrazoles, and cyclopentadienes
19923H-Pyrazoles generally undergo thermal rearrangement by concerted [1,5]-sigmatropic migrations. It has been discovered that 3H-pyrazoles 111a-e undergo thermal rearrangement by an alterative mechanism. A stepwise, ion-pair, mechanism operates in these rearrangements, in benzene/toluene, chloroform, and methanol solvents.
