Porous Carbon Materials for Carbon Dioxide Capture

open access: yesCarbon Energy, EarlyView.
This work aims to address the current status and challenges associated with the regulation of pore structures, as well as the influence of pore structures on CO2 capture. Systematic quantitative analysis of structure–property relationships, combined with machine learning approaches, can effectively evaluate the contributions of structural ...

Tautomerism of 4-Pyridones [PDF]

open access: yesBulletin of the Chemical Society of Japan, 1977
Abstract The tautomeric constants, Kt, of several 4-pyridones were determined by measurement of pKa values. For 2-substituted 5-methoxy-4-pyridones, the Kt values were correlated to the substituent constants σ, the equation logkt=2.98+2.93σm−6.18σo being obtained.

Photochemistry of Aromatic N‐Oxides in Water Probed by Time‐Resolved X‐ray Absorption Spectroscopy

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, EarlyView.
Time‐resolved XAS at the nitrogen and oxygen K‐edges is applied to the photorearrangement of two N‐oxides in water. Pyridine N‐oxide rapidly forms the oxaziridine isomer. Pyridazine N‐oxide undergoes ring opening to the diazo compound, without any evidence of intermediates.

Pyridone-based nucleotide analogues accepted for DNA biosynthesis [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Novel pyridone-based nucleotides were investigated for maintenance of DNA synthesis, carried on by representatives of different classes of polymerases. Five different nucleoside triphosphates of similar structure were addressed, demonstrating involvement

rac-2-Methyl-3,4,5,6-tetrahydro-2H-2,6-methano-1,3-benzoxazocin-4-one

open access: yesActa Crystallographica Section E, 2010
The title compound, C12H13NO2, represents a conformationally restricted 2-pyridone analogue of 1,4-dihydropyridine-type calcium antagonists and was selected for a crystal structure determination in order to explore some aspects of drug-receptor ...

Stereoretentive Nucleophilic Aromatic Substitution Accesses Atropisomeric 4‐Amino‐N‐Arylquinolinium Salts

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, EarlyView.
Quinolin‐4‐ones were converted to chloroquinolinium salts, allowing formation of axially chiral aminoquinolinium salts via an enantioretentive SNAr reaction with a variety of amine nucleophiles. The salts have a high rotational barrier, with a racemization half‐life of ∼1000s of years.

Interfacial Charge‐Transfer Enhancement via High‐Entropy Alloy Regulated MXene Heterostructures for Asymmetric Supercapacitor Applications

open access: yesENERGY &ENVIRONMENTAL MATERIALS, EarlyView.
A novel core‐shell HEA@MXene composite was synthesized to enhance supercapacitor electrochemistry. DFT simulations reveal the role of HEA doping in regulating the MXene interface. The HEA@MXene composite exhibits a high specific capacitance of 872 F g−1 at 1 A g−1 with remarkable stability in 1 M KOH.

Binuclear Copper‐Dependent Oxidative Enzymes Involved in Fungal Natural Product Modifications

open access: yesJournal of the Chinese Chemical Society, EarlyView.
This article summarizes recent biochemical characterizations of a new enzyme family named by the authors as binuclear copper‐dependent oxidative enzymes (BiNCOs). Found in fungal natural product biosynthesis, BiNCOs catalyze diverse CH functionalization reactions, including C(sp3)H halogenation, C(sp3)H hydroxylation, C(sp3)O macrocyclization, and ...
