High‐Yield Synthesis of Fe‐NC Electrocatalysts Using Mg2+ Templating and Schiff‐Base Porous Organic Polymers

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Fe─NC porous oxygen reduction electrocatalysts are prepared employing a 2,4,6‐Triaminopyrimidine‐based porous organic polymer, a Mg2+ Lewis acid, and a low‐temperature cation exchange protocol. Using the polymer precursor achieves high pyrolysis yields and results in atomically dispersed FeNx sites. The resulting catalysts feature hierarchical porosity

Synthesis of various fused pyrimidine rings with their pharmacological and antimicrobial evaluation [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of the Serbian Chemical Society, 2014
Various fused pyrimidine such as furo[2,3-d]pyrimidine, triazolo[1,5-a]pyrimidine, tetrazolo[1,5-a]pyrimidine were synthesized from the reactions of thioxopyrimidine-6(1H)-ones with ethyl chloroacetate (under different reaction conditions ...

Blocked dihydropteridines as nitric oxide synthase activators [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
It has been shown that 6-acetyl-7,7-dimethyl-5,6,7,8-tetrahydropteridin-4(3H)-one can act as a competent cofactor for the production of nitric oxide by neuronal nitric oxide synthase (nNOS).

Aquachlorido(2-{[6-(dimethylamino)pyrimidin-4- yl]sulfanyl}pyrimidine-4,6-diamine)copper(II) chloride hydrate [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
A copper(II) complex of the non-symmetric bidentate ligand 2-{[6-(dimethylamino)pyrimidin-4-yl]sulfanyl}pyrimidine-4,6-diamine (L1) is reported. The single-crystal X-ray structure of aqua[aqua/chlorido(0.49/0.51)](2-{[6-(dimethylamino)pyrimidin-

DNA‐Templated 2D Heterostructures as Phototriggered Dynamic Nanohybrids: From Releasing Molecular Loads to Controlling Enzyme Biocatalytic Function

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
DNA strands are employed both as dynamic linkers and nanoscale templates for the integration of Ag2S nanoparticles on MoS2, which in turn imparted photothermal responsiveness; this feature permits the selective cargo (fluorophore, quantum dots or an enzyme) release from the MoS2 surface in response to local heat induced by light irradiation.

Crystal structure of 4,6-dichloro-5-methylpyrimidine

open access: yesActa Crystallographica Section E: Crystallographic Communications, 2015
The title compound, C5H4Cl2N2, is essentially planar with an r.m.s. deviation for all non-H atoms of 0.009 Å. The largest deviation from the mean plane is 0.016 (4) Å for an N atom. In the crystal, molecules are linked by pairs of C—H...N hydrogen bonds,

Biocatalytic Construction of a Chemical Exchange Saturation Transfer Magnetic Resonance Imaging Nucleoside Probe: Synthesis and Evaluation of 5‐Methyl‐5,6‐Dihydrothymidine

open access: yesAdvanced Synthesis &Catalysis, EarlyView.
Al‐Hilfi et al. present a biocatalytic strategy for synthesizing 5‐methyl‐5,6‐dihydrothymidine (5‐MDHT), a sensitive MRI contrast agent. The study demonstrates that recombinant enzyme catalysis offers an efficient, sustainable, and eco‐friendly alternative to traditional chemical synthesis for producing clinically relevant imaging probes.

Unnatural Amino Acid and Emerging Chemistry Approaches to Map RNA–Protein Interactions

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
This review highlights emerging chemistries for mapping RNA–protein interactions, including genetically encoded unnatural amino acids, novel photocrosslinkers, and non‐photoactivatable crosslinking systems. We compare their mechanisms, reactivity and applications, outlining how these next‐generation tools enable higher‐resolution, site‐specific ...
